Let me say it was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

I drove my wife's 01 Cobra with Blizacks today and it handled like my friends WRX. It was great, drove awesome.

The Marauder? Going down the same street I couldnt' even get up to the 25mph speed limit and I was driving sideways. Then. I got stuck in my own driveway. I did the same test by putting the 01' in the same spot and it didn't even slip getting out.

I've always had Toyo S/T Proxies and let me tell ya, even thought hey have a much more aggressive tread for dry weather they were light years better than these piece of CRAP BFG tires.

If you plan on using your BFG for winter tires. Don't. They are AWEFUL! I've used several other all seasons that are better.

Also in dry weather I've noticed they wear horribly. Worst tire selection Ford coulda came up with (well other than the firestone issue)

I know what your problem is. I have the same problem with mine. It's that dang two position throttle....

My friend and I were talking the other day, and I told him that the MM would be a lot easier to drive with factory tires, if you could reduce the torque on take off, he handed me the keys to his GM.

WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS( ice..snow ) REQUIRES DIFFERENT PREPERATIONS FOR DRIVING, LOWER SPEED !, THATS YOUR CHOICE ! AND THE ONLY THING BETWEEN YOUR CAR AND THE ROAD, ARE THE TIRES !!! SO CHANGE THEM !...WE ALL KNOW THE FACTORY SET UP (tires and rims) ON OUR MARAUDERS is for s%$t IN WINTER.

16" STEELES, AND A GOOD GRADE WINTER SET OF TIRES...LOOKS LIKE CRAPP, BUT IT WORKS....BE CAREFULL, AND "MERRY CHRISTMAS"

There is the 2nd gear option, but nothing beats winter tires.

A winter beater is the best alternative

Drove home tonight over snow/slush covered roads in freezing rain/sleet at about 40 mph, on my stock tires. Don't love them in this weather. (Scorpions go on Mon.) Only real problem was starting from a dead stop heading up a slight incline and once home couldn't get up the driveway. Fortunately everyone was driving at a lower speed and reasonable following distances.

Thats a rare case that everyone was driving like they had some sence And with reasonable distance too! Glad you and your MM made it home safely! Seneca

Performance tires suck for winter!

I haven't had a bit of trouble driving on the oem in winter. Lowered rear end back down to stock height and threw in a 25 pound bag of salt in middle over axle and boogied on down the road. Rear end is just to light for amount of torgue put out. Plus snow doesn't come often enough and last long enough to justify a winter package for me.

Now, ice is a whole nother matter . Biggest problem there is stopping, but it's still a lot better with end not jacked up.

I put on some used Scorpions on P71 steelies on mine. There is lots of tread on the tires, but I am not impressed with them. The difference between the Scorpions and the KDWSs isn't that much as far as I can tell. The big differences are quieter and smoother ride (and the expected inability to handle much throttle at all no matter the surface). On snow days, I'm going to drive my Bronco until next year, when I am going to see what else is out there to replace the Scorpions.

<and yes, I've tried 2nd gear, TC on and off, and other tricks to help and if its icy and uphill, momentum is about they only way to make it. If it is packed snow, and I am trying to get moving uphill, I've found that TC on (to keep tires speeds in check) and just smoothly spinning the tires (not too fast) to chew down through the snow pack to the pavement is the most successful method>

Good luck.

Don't kill me for saying this but my MM is my winter beater/daily.

I'm not saying the car isn't do-able. Man I was making some great controlled 200ft round drifts tonight in some parkinglots (lotsa snow) I made 3 laps before the wife said "omg...I'm gona loose my dinner"

Good news is I've got dibs on my dads stock 05 17" bullitts. I'm gona shop for some tires and see what I can find. I may end up running the same size on all 4 and turning off the traction control. It does VERY little to help. My wife's car practicly makes the damn thing stall. Mine just makes a little ABS noise and I'm still doing doughnuts/drifting.

Basicly what I want you guys to know is that if you think running the BFG's as your "winter tire" you're nuts. You'll have to drive VERY carefully. A quality winter tire will murder these things!!!

Good luck. Thanks, sounds like I'm gonna need it. First year putting on snow tires ( bought from former member who used them 1 season before selling his Marauder). If you discover something better, let us all know! ;)

I had my first serious snow experience with the Marauder last night with that big storm that came through New England. I usually use my Bronco when weather like this is coming, but unfortunately, I am in the middle of repairs with it.

Anyway, I have to say that the Marauder worked like a champ. I did have it prepped for snow with Winterforce tires on P71 steelies. Not to mention about 60-80lbs in the trunk.

Also if I run into trouble I make my wife ride in the trunk. Its a 2 for 1 really. More traction and less interior noise.

you have the right setup !!! Now let everyone try something else, or go with it ! Price and performance wise, it's up there, yes, their are other options on tire brands, however i think the "key" are the 16" rims....tjg442

225/60 R16 Blizzak Revo 1 on quality steel wheels.

This is what I am going to use.I used them on my 1999 Crown Vic LX (HPP) and they work wonders here in the Lake Effect snow area.

Hey,these are gonna fit properly on my Marauder correct?
