Hey all!

I haven't posted anything in a long time, since my '03A with 92k miles has been going strong. Until: I've developed a disturbing vibration in the driveline under heavy acceleration. I did a search for "vibration", and didn't really see anything, so maybe this is not a common problem. (Unlike my dead radio, or my HVAC stuck on defrost......)

If I do any heavy acceleration in the upper RPM range, I get this nasty vibration coming from the drivetrain. This could be at 40mph to 60mph, or 60mph to 80mph. If i'm at 3/4 throttle or more, and the car has downshifted to a lower gear, I get the vibration.

In my younger days, with older cars, I would have assumed it was a u-joint going bad. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I don't want to take it to a dealer, 'cause they won't even notice it, if you know what I mean.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I am leaning toward a u-joint too.
