great that sucks.. I think i may have spun a rod bearing and I was hoping that I could just get away with a new crank and bearings

I believe that you still can. The only time you have to worry about bending valves is if the chains or gears go and that is rare.

well I think it ran low on oil.. which is odd well maybe not i usually forget about things and cant remember when the last oil change was.. it sounded like a marble in a can and it was louder on the bottom end.. I really dont wanna take the timing chain off and have to worry about all the correct timing issues...

"Running low on oil" means there was something wrong with your engine that needed attention anyway. Unless you are doing 20,000 mile oil changes there is no way your modular engine should use enough oil between changes that it would harm the engine if you hadn't topped it off. If that engine has been run with "who knows how long" change intervals and it was using oil, it sounds like you should find another long block or plan on a rebuild. If one bearing spun due to low oil, the other ones are going to be damaged too. I am doing 6k change intervals and I add zero oil, and my car has the startup puff too.
