Hey guys, I dont know if I should post this up but now I guess would be the time....

I traded in my Marauder just over a week ago, and now they have listed it for sale. Problem is, the history of my Marauder is so bad, I would not want anyone to buy it with hopes of having the "rock solid" reputation of other Marauders.

I bought the car with a clean CARFAX. I didn't know of the OASIS report yet. Come to find out that the car has been what would now be considered totalled, with only 17xx miles on it.

The only factory part on the car is the passenger side doors, and rear drivers door. Wiring harness problems, and then with 35k miles the motor was rebuilt due to knocking.

I replaced the motor with 52k miles on it, after the motor blew up. I bought a used motor from a 2003 Cobra, with 42k miles on it. When that motor did not work out properly, the dealership told em they would find a COMPARABLE MILEAGE motor. They put a motor from a 2003 Marauder in my car, and said it had 58k miles.

I was;y happy with it having more miles than my car but, I was just happy to have my car back after 6 weeks. I then discovered this was the motor from a Marauder I was dealing with at a salvage yard I had worked at. The motor had 95,656 miles on it. I tried to get some actions to be taken but nothing panned out. I got played, and I knew it, no matter how many times they denied it.

When the car was traded, it "chugged" probably due to needing retuned. The rear axle seals, I suspect, were going, since the burnouts turned into one tire fires, and the tires theat used to squeal like crazy, no longer squeaked. The paint from the repaint had gotten water in it, and now was flaking on the gas door and rear quarters. It still sounded good, but it was going quick. The drivers seat had literally deflated. We called it "fat man syndrome", but being only 5'5" and weighing about 165lbs, I cant explain it.

They gave me $8k on trade, and now here is the listing.

Go buy it and get the warrantee. Best of luck.

Adam, did they change the rear tires? I can't tell...either way, don't buy that damn car.

That replacement motor looks like poo compared to the original...

Unless they ran an Oasis, they won't know any issues really...

Without knowing how these cars SHOULD be, you probably wouldn't notice any issues with this.

Their check before putting it on the lot is just a safety thing, making sure brakes works, tires are good, etc.

It is not serviced until after the papers are signed....ask us how we know (almost 5 hours after arriving, then signing the papers, they let Adam know he couldn't have his new car yet).

call carfax and tell them about the salvage motors etc... If they certify it they warranty it and would have to fix it.

Yeah wish we would have known that when he bought the car....

They cleaned off the salvage numbers...... I left them on there.
buy the warantee, beat the snot out of it, and get yourself a new motor lol.

Sean i wish i had known you wanted the reverse lights. I always liked having only the reverse lights S55 treatment.

Nope, they still have the lightly roasted KDW2s on the rear.

You can still see the rust all over the replacement motor, and notice how they did not show any pics of the seats? I better they armor alled them:shake:

They added 6 grand to what they gave you for it and Certified it. Noticed the grin on the salesmans face. You just can't trust anyone any more.

Wow, you're old car is a prime example of a Marauder that was beat to hell! That's why hot cars like these make me nervous. You never know how much the previous owner "loved" his car.

With all those problems, that car should be well below the $10k range. BUT the mileage is "low". I still wouldn't kick that car out of bed!

At least we know how low we can go on the price if desired!!

Kudos for being this honest. You know someone is going to buy it, totally unknowingly, and wind up here telling us about the great deal they just got on a low mileage MM.......

Yours would be THE LAST marauder I would buy!!! That thing has a black cloud following it... Did they scrape the junk yard #'s off the motor? Are the mufflers still on there? I am with with Sean! We should have swapped tailights!!!

You have a Ford Fusion with a Dukes of Hazard horn?

No, my marauder had the horn. I removed it the first week I had the car.

Couldn't stand hearing it.

My brother had an amazing 300b, that I did get to enjoy. I loved my car, even if it was a driving disaster.

I had a car that had frame damage and had been totally repainted (two separate incidents) and it was extremely low mileage (not an MM) and I checked the carfax well after the incidents and surprise, it was clean.
