since I spun a rod bearing in the merc last month.. any ideas on what crankshaft to go with and rod bearings? also does the marauder engine have the 8 bolt flywheel.. I have been checkin ebay and i can find the cranks for the cobra but not the marauder.. i didnt know if they were EXACTLY the same and since it spun a rod bearing do you think anything else could be messed up or just try a new crank and bearings? or go with getting the crank turned with oversized bearings?

Get the Cobra crank. The Marauder crank is cast - the Cobra is stronger and has the same size journals. Get the forged rods while you're at it.

Thc Cobra crank has 8 bolts for the flexplate. It is stronger, but I've never heard of a stock crank breaking. The problem is usually rods or pistons.

The stock cast crank is good for around 550-600ish rwhp. Afterthat its a crap shoot.

Keep the crank, get the rods/pistons upgraded.
