Hope all you guys endured the Ice Storm alright. We lost power for only a few days and didn't struggle too much. Only froze one night since our parrot got the fire, he needs the heat more than us.

Only had a partially destroyed fence around the pool

Please post up your experiences and pics!!

Man that sucks, we were supposed to get either 5-10" snow or snow and a ice storm last night but we got lucky and only got about 3" and sleet. Hope all is well soon.

Yup... that's pretty bad, a couple of nights with no electricity is something I don't wanna endure. I'll stick with shoveling!

Just took this pic outside my front door. The 15+ foot birch tree will hopefully survive. Phoebe and Blackbird are together in the driveway to the right, with the birch drapped over Phoebe. That is a "color" photo with nothing other than black and white.

...and a couple more. P.S., BLUE is safely tucked away in the garage pics above. P.S.S., Daisy Mae came out to see what the flashes were, she's back in the HEATED dog kennel in the back.

The real problem is going to be SUNDAY! Winds up to 30 mph and a high of 7 degree. This ice isn't going to melt and that wind will tear everything from limbs to powerlines down. I lucked out the first go-around, probabally because I prepared with a generator and all.

Wow, hope your power isn't down too long. Just snow here, about 10" of new stuff. I found this picture on a local news channel

I used to live across the street from there. Its the harbor at Oswego, NY on Lake Ontario. Sure don't miss those winds!

Sorry no pics.

We had about 2" of ice yesterday. It started to slush up and melt by mid-afternoon.

The difference btween my encounter in Boston last week, and my encounter here yesterday was that it was business as usual. The bus came for my son. We slipped and slided around the property. Took and extra 10 minutes to thaw cars parked out side. Everyone showed up for work on time.

Most of the trees in north east Ohio must be accustomed to heavy ice, for as bad as we piled it up, there was little damage, and only a handfull lost power.

Why...... Why!!! Why would you want snow, if I were never to see snow again I would be a happy camper, yesterday I worked 14 hours and got home at 3am and had to shovel out my driveway so I could park my car. I didn't get in bed til 7am :(

Dude....I saw the news...you guys were lucky if you got 6-8 inches.
We don't even shovel that...we just flatten it with the Focus or the Aviator back and forth for 10-15 minutes until the entire drive and apron are smooth.

Better traction with snow tires that way.

I shoveled (on two occations last year) 27" from my 160' driveway and 40' apron. That, with a couple vics and a 12 pack, only took me 6 hours.:P

My driveway is like a wind tunnel, one big snow drift, there was about 2 feet of snow in the driveway, and the plows pushed the snow in front of my driveway and that was about 30 inches of snow and as hard as concrete. I HATE THE SNOW!!!

Buy a snowblower. Best piece of yard equipment I've bought. Saves whats left of my back and no heart attacks... but, we do get a little bit more snow than yous guys. Syracuse is at 30+" for the season so far, we are easily double that. Don't ever move central NYS if you don't like snow.
