I am convinced that the oil pressure gauge is indeed a "fake". Mine hasn't indicated anything other than 60 lbs for the entire 1800 miles I've had it. My '94 T-Bird SC and my old '95 E350 work van were the same, and I confirmed on the wiring diagrams that they were in fact only "switches". If this is supposed to be a Cobra motor, I can't believe Ford would have put a fake gauge in a Mustang Cobra, so there must be a proper sender somewhere in the parts list.
Has anyone made theirs into a "real" gauge?
...part numbers, etc?
Thanks...
RF,
I'm trying to find out if AutoMeter makes a unit that will work for our application. I'll let you know (unless someone already knows).

Umm... mine reads 55psi... And it goes down really slow when you turn the motor off.

Here's the reply I got from Auto Meter:
"We do not have an upgraded sender for your Marauder. Your only option as far as gaining more accurate oil pressure information is to install one of our complete oil pressure gauge kits, which would include both a new gauge and sending unit."
Apparently they make the GAUGE for the Marauder, but not a sender?
What a crock...they'd be happy to sell me a complete NEW setup, though...
Maybe I'll give Stewart-Warner a call...or Sun...or VDO...
