So, anybody know if there is a S/C kit out there that will pass California ARB/smog inspection? I asked a couple years ago and Jerry (at Trilogy, I think) said they were working on it.

My son has a late model Mustang summer toy and has recently found one marketed by Edelbrock. Pretty rare for Vic to sell anything non approved. I will have get more info.

Mustang approval does not equate with Marauder approval.

It will never happen for the Marauder, the car is no longer in production no SC company, Trilogy Reinhart Automotive, can afford the rigorous Carb certification to justify the limited sales for a car no longer in production, Keith Schuley was able to get around this but God was on his side, now with the Vortech SL kit you could easily convert this car back to stock for a annual emissions test, but this will not protect you if you ever are pulled over and they pop your hood, and compare the carb # on the SC it will not match the car. I sold a kit to a young man here in Florida he went to CA for college the CHIP pulled him over, three times in one month, he finally sent the car home to his parents.

Not meaning to derail the thread, but damn I'm glad I don't live in CA any more. Lots of nice things about CA and I enjoyed growing up there, but I'd have to give up my blower and my rifles if I wanted to live there now. The killer weather isn't worth having to give up two of my favorite hobbies. :)

Scott I am fortunate to be friends with and know the best technical individual in the USA, and yes there are some things that could have been done, if caught earlier, fore example the 03 Mach 1 has the same exact motor as the Marauder, Vortech could have had this added a carb addition to there kit to cover a Marauder at a nominal cost, but they never made the kit. I did and KB, and the market was larger for non CA residents, yes if I could have afforded it I would have done it, and so would have KB.

Too bad. In 2007, I looked at the first Mustang Shelby 500 (in this area) with the stock Supercharger and almost traded-in my MM. My 16 yr old son could not get in the rear as he is over 6 feet tall and 300 lbs. He likes my MM and prefers the front as the rear seat in the MM is still cramped for him. I like the factory custom touches in the MM but was not happy with the lack of muscle car torque that I had in my first car (68 cougar big block bored and stroked to 428 ci) I never drove the Mustang and it was sold that weekend, but should be torquey.

How unfortunate. :(

Especially since two of the top supercharger makers, Vortech and Whipple, are both headquartered in California.

Darn, a CARB legal SC would have been great. Shucks.
