Got a set for Christmas. I have them in my Subaru and love' em...

An oil pressure gauge and voltmeter gauge for the stock location.

How do I wire them? I know that ford has a thing that they switch between voltage and milli volts when the headlights or marker lights are on it goes to milli volts. But when the lights are on, goes back to battery voltage (not running)

How do I wire them? Will I be reusing the oem connectors?

It's not rocket science........

If your not sure how to do it, I'd get someone to do it for you. Nothing like having an oil leak or electrical fire.

You need to install the oil pressure sender for the new gauge, splice in a new connector for the sender using the original harness. Then it just connect the new gauges to the power, oil sender and lights. It would help if you had a test light.

BTW.... Iowuld have stayed with the Autometer gauges to retian the stock appearance.

thanks, apparently I really have no knowledge whatsoever when it comes to well, anything. You seem to be very quick to point that out.

I posted this question to eliminate the posibilites of there being any differences between how the 2 gauges are wired. Ive done alot of guage installs but they've all been on imports. Just wanted to know if there is somthing I should know that may or may not be different from my previous installs being as this is a domestic.

The volt meter wires up like the stock gauge, The oil pressure gauge requires changing out the sender which is located on the oil filter mount. Then its just cutting off the OEM clip and crimping a eye on the wire to hook up to the contact. On the back of the gauge it wires up like the stock one did. Took me 15 minutes total to change out both gauges.

If you do a search there is a entire write up with pics on this swap.

I imagine the conversion could be done but it was just so much simpler to swap out the sender and connect.
