I’m in Somerset, PA on a road trip and the Check Engine light came on, the light is not blinking. and its just solid. I just had a emission test done, could they have forgot to "clear" the codes? What else can it be? The Marauder passed everything with flying colors.

Thanks.

If it is like a Maryland emmission test, they unscrew your gas cap and check your fuel fill for tampering.
If they did not screw the gas cap back in properly you can get a 'check engine' light.

I just had a emission test done, could they have forgot to "clear" the codes? What else can it be? Peter, I don't know anything about emissions testing up in The Canada, but if it's similar to the testing done here, they wouldn't have "cleared" any codes, because if there WERE any, the CEL would have been on then and it would have been an automatic fail. Plus, they need to leave the codes in place so the repair person can diagnose the issue. Unfortunately, there are SO many things it can be that without getting the codes read, I can't even begin to guess.

Stop in at any of the national chain auto parts stores and they will read the codes for free. AutoZone and Advance Auto are 2 of the more popular ones on the east coast. I don't know if NAPA and Pep Boys read codes, but I assume they do. Get back to us with the codes and we will help you out.

Just a update:
My Marauder runs perfectly now (it also ran perfectly before), The check engine light disappeared when I refilled the gasoline tank with 94 octane. Could it have just been bad gas?

More likely the issue was that the cap wasn't properly tightened the last time you got gas.

Not bad gas, prolly gas cap not replaced/tightened correctly.

Or, you may have had bad gas, but it's usually the passenger that brings that to your attention, not the CEL.;)
