I real nice man from Jacksonville has a black Trilogy, and brought the car by, it was having severe issues at wot he thought it was the transmission, after driving the car I was convinced it was not the transmission, he has had the car for three years, and it had 48K on the clock, it has never had the IAT mod or the FRP sensor, so I told him I would put it on the dyno with his stock tune, and we would take a look at it, it had a chip in it, and after one pull the AF needed adjusted, and the car made 368 RWHP. So I opted to re,do the tune and make the fuel rail pressure sensor boost sensitive. I also pulled out the 22C plugs and installed NGK TR6. Below is how we cut the boost line and splice a T fitting in and run this around to the FRPS so it will see boost at WOT and we just cap off the OEM line that only sees vacuum.

Now my dyno can read boost, so we just T off the FRPS and I can see how much boost the car is making at WOT on the dyno Graph.

Now in a few weeks he is going to bring the car back and we are going to pull the intake, and install a IAT

And at the same time I am going to install the same reservoir I use on my Vortech kits, because it will hold more coolant.

Now he made good power but we backed it off till we can install the IAT, the AF did have a slight, lean spot but we corrected that on the next pull, we got the car down dialed in the shift points and he was very happy.

And you can see the car made just over 9 PSI

Well Dennis I appreciate you taking the time to try and work through the issues that I was having. I was gonna wait a couple days to get used to driving the car with the new shift points before posting but so far it seems much improved from how it was running. It does seem to shift a bit harder and it also feels like I go into boost earlier than I did before the retune. It will probably just take some getting used to.

Again thanks for getting it back on the right track...hopefully after doing the IAT I will be making some really impressive power. :D I'll be seeing you in a couple weeks.

My name is ridinclean ya know. In all honestly though someone backed into me while my car was parked a few months ago so the bumper was recently repainted.:cool4:

Nice power. What other mods you got to do that?

Dennis:

What larger reservoir are you using for a Vortech that can be used on a Trilogy?? Any part number or year car/model?

I don't think the coolant reservoir will work as an intercooler reservoir because the return line is much smaller.

Nothing other than a JLT intake.

I don't think the coolant reservoir will work as an inter cooler reservoir because the return line is much smaller.

Well of course it will not feed through the 3/8 radiator return line, I have a slick fitting that will work, the more coolant the less heat soak, wait till its installed you will like the results. And this is a great idea for roots systems. This will cut IAT and heat soak tremendously and make the Eaton style or twin screw much more efficient.http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o191/Loco4321/Marauder%20after%20first%20sta rtup/Picture-039.jpg
so I have my plans. Another great idea is to get the knock sensors back where they were designed and calibrated to work in the intake not on the heads, so just bear with me.

I like this club or I would not be here, I respect your opinion, and I have mine to me this is night and day.

Dennis I was only answering his question of what other modifications I have made to my car. I wasnt saying a JLT is better than anything else.

I am just tired I did not mean to sound abrupt both CAK are nice but I do like the PHP they make for me, it is a bit is far more expensive, So I did not mean to insinuate any thing, I am just worn out from seven days in a row, how about I buy you a cold:beer:

WOW. Base Trilogy at 9psi on a completely stock MM (only JLT) making 406rwhp? THAT is amazing.

Christ, with my mods i'll probably add 50 or so hp.

This car has stock exhaust with just the JLT.
