I just got back from ordering the axle kit from the local Dealer. I was quoted $417 for the kit:eek:

I talked with him a bit and mentioned i've been quoted differently from every dealer and that he was by far the highest with $280.00 plus shipping being the lowest (small lie on my part).

We had a nice conversation for a few minutes on basic axle issues and he said allright here's the deal cost is $271 and i'll add 10% and have it here on monday:)

I feel he did me real good and am very happy to have met him. Its nice to see the people in power sometimes still give out breaks to us just for treating them nice.

Final cost $298.00

I have fresh clutchs and want to keep my stock gears for now. Seemed more logical to stay the way i am for now. Plus i'm broke.

So what exactly did you order, just two new axles?
Axle tsb kit with bearings and seals. Not a big deal really about what was ordered, its just that it went from 35% mark up to 10% just for asking for a better price.

As I have said before, you can get at least a 20% or more discount from FRPP just with a little talk with the counter man. That brings their crate engines down in price considerably.
