These are the exact wheels I'm putting on my MM.

FR500 05+ offset/backspace 18x9. plan is 255/45 front 265/50 rear. That will be identical to stock sizes.

I'm just in debate if the 500's will make or break the car.

I like it, what do you mean make or break?

I personally think the stock wheels are the signature of the car. I completely understand why you are using the FR500's. I looked at that option a few years ago. :)

The stock rims are perfect for the car. Maybe in person they would look a little better.

in my opinion they would break the car.

If the stock wheels were perfect they would come in a 9" front 10" rear. But instead Ford had to make them beautiful but useless if you want a decent tire like what the MM deserves... I agree they look good which is why I'm worried about it "breaking" the look of the car. Wheels always make or break the car.

Btw these specific wheels are not made anymore. You can get them in silver, chrome, or black. But not Anthrecite in the 05' specific offset. They're already sitting in the garage so I might as well try em. They fit my Fox with its M-2300-K brake kit perfectly but I think they'll look better on the MM.

Here's a pic of them on my fox durring test fitting (note the tires definatly don't work. LOL) I will need Rubber band tires to make them fit on my fox. 255/35/18 and 275/35/18.

I just hate how much it freaking costs to have wheels/tires mounted ballanced. My dream garage will have those items.

Its hard to tell but are these the same? I was liking these till i saw the photoshop. Of course you never get the real effect with photoshop anyways.

Just when did mount and balance become such BS? I worked at a garage for about six years (granted it was back in 87-93) and we only charged $10.00 for m&b per tire and it was free if you bought the tires from us! No shop fees, no hazardous fees, just list price on the tire (Same as everyone else's prices at the time) and tax, thats it! Nowaday's you have to pay attention to that price when when purchasing.

Again, I like 'em. I think they look good against the silver bi-ertch paint. I don't think they would look good on black, blue, or dtr's tho. If I had to pick different rims for mine (blue) I think I would only go with black rims, mebbe like the bullitts. I think if you could get a taller back tire, it would help the stance a little. I love the rake on our cars.

Around here its usually 15$ per tire. Ya figure if it works, great, 60$. If they don't look good, 60$ more then another 60$ to put them on the stockers

180$ mistake if they don't look worth a crap. running the car back and forth with fricken wheels/tires in the car...UGH its a pain!

dont' forget good ole' 7% tax.

As far as wheels go most will stay with stock. I always thought stock were too "show me" I have the '06 mustang bullet black with silver around the rim. Some do not like 'em some think too much black. In the end it what makes you happy :):):)

Now a days no two MM are alike.

Local just tire here $40.00 bucks each for 18" and up!

I feel ya man, wheels are one of the things i seriously drag a** on. I almost have to see it in person on someone elses car before i'll pull the trigger. Good luck.

If Ford would of made them 9" it wouldn't be an issue. I want more beef!

I plan on alot of auto-x this year.

I think they look ok. +1 on seeing them on the car, though.

Did you consider just widening the factory rears?

Yea but for the cost I could buy 2 tires. I already have the wheels in the garage. Also I want more width on the front.

My GMC dealer charges $10 for mount/balance. I bought a spare rim off of Ebay and a new tire from Tirerack. He mounted, balanced and checked the tire pressure monitor.

(The truck came with a steel wheel spare and non matching tire and mine has the Z71 package for those curious as to why??)
