Yeah I saw that and sent an email asking them to clarify it.
They said that the info in the title saying 2003-2004 MM is the correct info.

So when you get one, let us know if it works.

Any news on the key? Does it work on our cars? Is it easy to program?

Got the key in a timely manner from the vendor.
Cool looking but a little bulkier than i'd like (or thought it would be)
Unfortunatly, the MM is in down for the winter and will be for another couple of months at least.:bigcry:
Will test it when it is unleashed again.

My guess is that its going to be too fat to fit into the lock cylinder gap.

A little interested in this key myself. I also emailed the seller of the key and I was told the same thing about the title it had, he also told me that you had to go and get the key cut yourself. Don't know if that was known by everyone but just putting it out there.

Have not had it cut yet.

Don't need to have it cut to put in the ignition for a test fit. If you don't have it cut and it does not clear the cylinder wings you could probably return it.

Do not buy this key it does not fit as the remote will not insert into the ignition slot our key has a thin flat top that fits in the slot the remote stops the key about an inch before it seats in the ignition cyclinder, this seller is just ripping people off and hes aware of it has anyone who got one from him received a refund or even a reply for this seller?

Tried mine today even though it has not been cut,
The key blank goes into the ignition lock cylinder as far as my factory key does.
The only problem is that i'm having trouble getting someone to cut it for me.
No one wants to be responsable for the unit if it doesn't turn the ignition cynlinder.
Guess i'll just have to wait till the car is un-covered in the spring and take it to the dealer to let them cut and program it LOL.:(

If you cannot get a dealer to cut it, check out a good locksmith also. The good ones should have zero problem cutting and programing them. However, if you have two programed keys already, then you can program the new key yourself if it has the proper chip inside.

Okay,
here's the scoop.
All of you guys that said that this key would not work guess what......You Were Right.
Took my car out of winter storage today and took a closer look at the fit.
It does not go into the lock cylinder far enough to properly contact all of the tumblers.
The bulk of the housing causes it not to seat all the way in and is about 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. short of seating properly.
The housing of the retractable key is to fat.
It will not go into the narrow key slot.
Batmann, Stryker, Wchain and the rest, once again you were RIGHT.
Working on a refund as I type this since the ebay vendor assured me that it would fit.:mad:

As I said in post #4,
I saw that at the end of the description that they said 1998/1999 Mercury Grand Marquis but in the title in bold letters it says 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder.
I sent an email asking which was correct and in there reply they said that the info in the title of the ad stating 2003 -2004 Mercury marauder was the correct information.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04-2003-2004-MERCURY-MARAUDER-KEY-REMOTE-KEYLESS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trk parmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a10Q7c39Q3a 1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q 2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem160320634 591QQitemZ160320634591QQptZMot orsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAc cessories
