Does anyone know if FRPP headers are the same as stock cobra manifolds? Would one see a difference in HP gains from one other?

I believe the Cobra manifolds are cast iron and the FRPP headers a tubular.

Is it me or do the stock cobra manifolds looker morer open then the FRPP? Does that matter? More air coming out???

The FRPP shorties will flow more than the stock cobra manifolds.

No, the ports are about the same size. The angle the picture was taken at makes the Cobra's look bigger.

Maybe a Ford Racing Parts dealer near you. I purchased mine on eBay. Stainless steel, jet-hot coated, for much less than the FRPP price.

The FRPP's are turned and the stockers are not? Wats the problem?

This is a picture of the Marauder stock manifolds vs Cobra manifolds. Not only does it bolt up differently, thus requires a different down tube. Also look at the neck of the two manifolds. You will see a larger casting on 03 Cobra version making our marauder casting look very narrow. That being said, the cost of installing a custom exhaust using Ford Racing headers is not cheap. I still had to raise my motor mounts to clear the steering wheel shaft.

I have a pair of stock 03 Cobra manifolds and they do not look anything like the ones in this picture. Are you referring to a 97-99 cobra? Those look like the Marauder manifold you removed from your car.

No one likes my FRPP shorty headers but myself. I run the Cobra headers to a Magaflow Cobra X-pipe with hi-flow CATS (2) to STOCK mufflers, tailpipes and tips. The sound is much better then stock with no drone. Ya, it hurts my performance, I can only run 11.92 with at least another 1-2 tens left in the engine. But, people love the SSW and Kooks headers and swear by them, I love my FRPP shorties.

No, the Cobra short headers actually flow less than the Mach 1 manifolds, I have shown the pictures of how the short headers do not port match the new style tumble port heads our cars use, the short headers port match non tumble port heads. You also have to shim the drivers side motor mount so it will clear the steering shaft. I will try and find some old pictures. I have a set here if any one would like them give me a call I will let them go reasonably, but they will not bolt up to the stock Marauder exhaust, and I agree with Tom they sound great, and this is what I sold years ago, and as many things, about our cars I have tried to improve many items, to each his own they are far cheaper than LTH. And today every penny counts. But yes the short headers will give a RWHP over stock Marauder manifolds.

so just to clear this up for myself, if i go with stock cobra manifolds i wont have to shim the motor mount but if i go with FRPP's i do?

yes you have to shim it with short headers, no you do not with Mach 1 manifolds, do not use 01 Cobra manifolds use 03 Mach 1 but as I said the stock Marauder h pipe will not fit these, just call me I will gladly explain all this to you.
