Im wondering what some of the MM owners top all out speed has been. I was watching some crown vics pI on youtube and they were well over 140mph I mean buried looked closer to 160mph I have a 03 300a and 01cvpI and I think my MM would easily get to 100mph faster than my cv but those cars were just flying. So anyone reach those type of speeds?

I've gotten the speedo in my CVPI to over 140, but it didn't get there quickly. and the wind was VERY loud, lol. Im curious however, how fast these panther platform cars are capable of going tho.

I Hit 145-150. I was going downhill slightly. The car had 3.73's, a cold air kit, and a tune. This was in my old MM. I was trying to keep up with my dad's Roush.

The Needle on the dash was barried.

My old CVPI loved 140 lol

My MM unfortunately never got the limiter off.....

Been passed by one going 140 though.

ask KB-Marauder-S about that lol

The top end is a total unknown, I do know that 140 is very easy to reach "quickly" in 3rd gear, from a starting point of let's say 75. Every aspect of my car in my opinion can handle exceeding 140 except the driveshaft, it is OEM and I don't trust it's ability to turn true at speeds above 130 for more than a few seconds.

Speeds above 140 can only be documented with GPS or radar; a true top end can only be documented safely (to all except driver) by timing devices such as used at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I am sure that a S/C'ed MM can achieve 155-160; of this I am sure. trying to figure out what your top end is on a public road is a terrible idea.

168 on a certain professional track with safety crews posted. Would have been more but the driver's sphincter tightened up so much, he had to back it down...

Its funny you mention the flats smokie. Thats where I'm going this sept. :)

Here's my old MM at the flats.

I rode the limiter on the way down to Wendover (where the salt flats are) when the car was totally stock for about 5 miles. :banana2:

And it was still pulling strong. With the 4.10s, it should hit redline around 170.

Leaving Centerville this year a certain 04' Gt and i cruised about 3 miles at the MM's limiter. it would go just a tick past 125mph. It was a sunday drive for the mustang.

I've had mine past the 140 mark, in third gear.

In the Jag I could set the cruise control at 160 and it could climb the hills of PA maintaining that speed.

Going past 120 on a stock drive shaft has been documented as dangerous. There has been a couple of cars that seals from the trans and rear end that have melted because of speed faster than what the drive shaft was balanced for.

Get a Tuner and turn off your limiter, it will be all good then.

Me thinks I have gone 80 mph so far.

You must have been going in a circle.

140mph here and the car (NA) had more balls, but I didn't.

I plead the fifth . . . but I got up to 118 on an open stretch of highway would have been more as she was still running BUT I believe in two things. First, that the brake should be applied BEFORE a curve, and second, that 80% of all engine damage occurs at the top 10% of the rpm band. It was fun at the top but I came down before I damaged the car or someone else.

Well, I did have this dream one time about 3 Trilogized Marauders, 2 SB and one Black, hammering down Woodward Ave from Pontiac, side by side tickling the 135 mark.... but then I woke up because Michelle was hitting me, I got so excited in my sleep.....

About 115 while "playing" with a Mustang GT I mentioned previously on this board. I backed off though remembering something about driveshaft issue at high speeds...but that time was sure fun!!

I've gotten just above the 135mph mark but ran out of road. Since the 4.10's, It's a slow climb after 125mph.

I can point the needle straight down effortlessly and do it with no hysterics from the car, just quiet smooth application of power very quickly. Jim D'Amore owner of JDM Engineering has had my car to a higher top speed but I think he has all the cops on New Jersey Rt.9 payed off. I dream of Utah but NC Rt.12 is my favorite.
