TAF HAS BAD NEWS WHILE ON WAY HOME FROM ENNIS--
I do not say this to take away anything from TAF's story on this to come later , but I"m so wanting you all to know what has happen to my buddy /friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tad advises he has had a crunching bad outcome in a rain storm with a big 18-wheeler while on the way home today.. Have spoke with him twice and car is drivable but damaged quite bad..I have expressed my sincere sorrow --as you all can only know--he joked that another MM'er has gone down again..DAMN--
I want you all to help me express our feelings toward helping him get the "up feeling from us" from this bad situation--He is alright but in a very bad down situation - who wouldn't----
He will surely post more more--I just cannot stand here any longer without letting you all know for him and to wish him quick recovery for his MM...Damn...

TAF, Hope you are O K--rain storms and 18 wheelers don't mix--take it easy and get home safely--really enjoyed your company--keep a positive attitude ( as my daughter once said "I'm positive I'm going to be miserable") Things have a way of working out--if there is anything we can do, let us know. Let us know when youget home, Maury

Trilogy #2 had a mishap tonite on the way home as well. Only 30 miles left to home. Semi blew a tire in front of MM and "BAM" grill, front facia, hood all smashed! Sorry to hear that TAF but I am jealous that you'll get a better paint job than the rest of us. I'm sure Lidio or Jerry will post their damages later! :bigcry:

Jeez,.. the Trilogy boys aren't having much luck with semis blowing tires near them huh? :(
That rain was no joke. In my 9 years of driving, I have NEVER pulled over for a storm, rain or snow. But Mac & I HAD to pull over for this one.
TAF, if you need anything (badgeless grill) let me know.
Hope everything works out & glad youre OK

Car accidents are terrible experiences and very upsetting. But, as long as you are O.K. that is the most important thing. Cars can be replaced, people cannot.

Well, this isn't always true. For those of you that weren't in Ennis with us, Todd was voted "The Bionic Ladies' Man," so we have the parts, we can rebuild him. Stronger. Faster.....

TAF,
Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad you are ok!
The car can be fixed or replaced.. you can't (I know it still sucks looking at your ride though).
Take care! Keep us posted on your progress!
To all here for your concern. And a SPECIAL thanks to those whom I've spoke with on the phone/PMs for your concern. You know who you are and I'm very grateful.
I'm fine. Could have been much worse considering I was spun-out, in the pouring rain, in the middle of I-20.
Hit the guardrail with the drivers front quarter and nose taking a heavy blow, then spun around and smashed the drivers rear-quarter into the rail. Getting back on the interstate on a entrance ramp, had to brake and turn hard-right to avoid an 18-wheeler who had veered over into the run-up lane (I think he was forced over by another car). All I could see was semi comin at me in my lane. Looking close at the damage now...I think he clipped me sending me into the guard-rail and a spin.
No...nobody stopped...just me and my Marauder facing the wrong-way on a busy Interstate in pouring rain. Not a good feeling.
Best part of the story (besides your comments above and those who I've spoken with offering help)...After sitting there for 30 minutes for the State Troopers (who never showed...they were working the countless other accidents I saw) I dialed info and found there was a Ford Dealer just a mile up from the exit that I was entering from. I called the body shop manager, told him what happened and that I needed help getting me 'road-worthy" to get the last 75 miles. You know how good your Marauder USUALLY looks going down the road? Well...driving with headlights & cornering lights hanging from wires, bumpers dragging....it's NOT a pretty sight. Mark @ Sonny King Ford in Anniston, AL was GREAT! He and 2 of his guys who he pulled off other cars spent 45 minutes taping, refastening hanging bumpers & lights to get me back on the road. Made it home finally.
She doesn’t look good and is certainly no longer the “Ladies Choice”. We’ll see how State Farm treats me.
Thanks again to ALL of you. I’ll update when possible.

Todd,
Sorry to hear about your accident. Hopefully from the fact that your OK after a bout with a 18 wheeler and guard rails speaks well for the safety aspect of the MM. Hope they will have her back and better than new soon.
We are all thinking about ya.

Todd, I'm sorry I missed your calls, but I was dead to the world last night. Please call again soon, when you're up to it.
Zack's offer sounds tempting, that would look sharp on your "Ladies Choice." Marty's description of the damage says your MM should be okay, nonetheless we are all likewise attached to our MMs, and we understand your disappointment, but we're all glad you are okay. We're here for you bud, what ever you need, K?
Looks like most of us got caught in the same storm front. That was quite a driving challenge that reset my definition of storm. Whew!

Todd, I sure am sorry to hear about your Marauder, but boy am I glad to hear you're okay. I know that area of I-20 well and it is notorious for fatal accidents. The Big Guy was looking out for you.
I guess the next question is what color Marauder are you going to go with next?

Yo, Todd. Sorry about your mishap. It seem the more special or rare a car is the bigger target it becomes. Bet if you were driving a Honda Accord you would be damn near invisible to the gremlins on the road. Again sorry.

TAF,
I'm glad to hear you're OK.
It is pretty hard going without your MM though. I hope the insurance co. gives you a pretty decent rental in the meantime. It was nice to hear how helpful the dealer was when you really needed it.
Here's a tidbit to cheer you up ... I'm fairly certain Brentwood has zoning that prohibits 18-wheelers!

She's at the hospital (TeamFord of Marietta). Those of you that are from here and go there...you KNOW how great those guys are. Scott Levin (the EXCELLENT Tech who works on ALL the Atlanta Marauders) brought Fred, the Service/Body Shop Manager out and he personally brought his Body Shop Manager.
Fred: "See this man right here...this car is always the cleanest car that comes in here...pristine...you understand? I want it back in his hands better than he could ever imagine...you got that?"
Needless to say...I feel I'm in pretty good hands. Should get the estimate tomorrow.
Thanks again for all the PMs, emails, phone calls and posts. You are ALL a group of REALLY special folks!

Todd, I share everyone's regards. I may be crazy but I beleve in car "carma". You've got a good machine and it took care of you as you have it. Hopefully you'll be reunited soon and she'll be better than ever! You are blessed. Thanks for your inspiration on this site. Sounds like you have an impressive support crew. I hope the insurance co. does their part. Shout at me if you need anything.

I totaled out my 40th Anniversary T-Bird virtually the same way,
but if I hadn't, today I might not be driving a MM and be part of this great MM family. Karma?
Get well (repaired) soon!!!

What were the circumstances that caused you to spin out? Was it the tires? (What kind of tires were you using?)
I use Pirelli P Zero and have never driven a car with such a wide tread and with so much rubber instead of tread. Does this make my car more prone to what happened to you?

Damage on the front bumper looks like I was "clipped" by the rear tire of the 18-wheeler who came over into my merge lane. Plus, hitting the brakes hard and turning the wheel to the right to avoid him. AND...it was in HEAVY rain. Stock BFGs.

Upside is it can/will be fixed.
Big plus is you ae OK!
I feel your pain.
Thanks Mark!
And thanks again for ALL of the kind words posted here by EVERYONE.
Things are going well so far...the body shop told me today, they put their best on it...he will be working on nothing else, but taking on my car as his "project". And, State Farm has been EXCELLENT!!! If you're shopping for insurance...these folks have been unbelieveable.
Only downside...the stupid Pontiac Grand Am I'm driving...MAN what a piece of junk!!!

Todd, I'd love to drop by Team and see their work. I have not had much to do with them since they were Chuck Clancy Ford.
Do they do warranty work on Marauders? It seems as if some Ford dealers turn away Mercurys.
I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Bob,
You NEED to be going to TeamFord for ALL your Marauder needs. We now have about 8-10 Marauders going there. I'll send you a PM with a contact name over there with the BEST Service you can ask for for your Marauder.
