I know some of you have had this problem before so I need to know what to do here. The fluid comes on when my wipers are in delay mode so far. When they are off everything is fine. I have had a ton of wiper problems lately, but this I am totally lost on.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Clean out the trap below the motor. Enlarge the drain hole. The drains get clogged and could short out the wiper motor. If the motor is fried, it will have to be replaced. Do a search on "wacky wipers" -- it all comes back to water shorting out the motor due to a poor drain and frequently clogging due to leaves, debris, and crud.

Step #1, ^^^^^^ What Charlie said. ^^^^^^

Step #2 Try Richy04's corrective maintenance on the wiper motor control module.

Step #3 If that doesn't work, replace the wiper motor assembly (motor, controller, transmission). That's what ended up doing, solved all my wiper-related problems.

Fix it now before it wipes out lights, wiper motor, and A/C heat unit.!!!

^^^^^^+1 ^^^^^ to what BDJ said.

I kept limping along with the problem on the Bluesmobile, and when the wipers finally crapped out, they were stuck in the full up position, which made it a real pain to get the wiper arms off.

Follow the instructions in Richy04's posting, and print out the links to the .pdf files he included from the shop manual, and you can knock out this repair in a couple hours or less.

Wow I didn't know this was in relation to the same problem that we all discussed before. My biggest problem is getting the wiper arms off. I would just remove the blades, but when I did that with my K5 I scratched the fenders real bad with the piece that sits between the hood and windshield. Thank you all!

Mine is the same now, sprays the washer in intermittent only (when wacky wipers are acting up)

Use fender covers when working on car!

Might as well bite the bullet and either do the "richy04" repair, or go ahead and replace the wiper motor assembly.

Speaking from experience, it won't go away if you ignore it.:o
