Good Afternoon Everyone,

Yesterday while driving to work my local dealer had a black 03 (didn't look yet to see if it was an A or B) pop up on its lot. Have been missing the 03 I bought new and sold later a few years back, so this one caught my eye. I went back that night (after the salemen left) to look at the car a little bit, but didn't spend a ton of time since the temp is 5. lol
Anyways the car has 106K on it and they are asking 9,950 for it. The interior from what I can tell looks like new, with no usual front seat wear that comes with high mileage. Has the floor mats which appear to be unused. Paint looks good, no pealing, or clearcoat problems visible, has some light swirls but very little, and I should easily be able to polish them out. The tires appear to be worn even and about 75% tread, so they haven't just been replaced. No visible rust on the exhaust tips, wheel wells, bottoms of doors, etc. Still need to look under the hood.
I would imagine that will the slow sales etc I should be able to bargain the price down some. Vin 2MEHM75V53X612283

So here are my questions -
1. What should I look for in a high mileage MM? Besides my previous 5K mile marauder, I am used to used P71 vics so I am used to thier problems, but with a different drivetrain am unsure on the MM.
2. What bargaining price should I aim for?
3. Other suggestions?

First off, PM RoyLPita with the VIN so he can run an OASIS report for you.

Second, quick check of the fuel door will let you know if it's an A or B. A's had locking fuel doors, B's didn't.

A quick check of KBB pricing shows:

Retail $11,290

Private Party Excellent Condition $9,140
Private Party Good Condition $8,390
Private Party Fair Condition $7,415

Your point about the slow economy is a good one, he may be willing to deal.

On the other hand, you may want to look around a bit and see if you can find something with less miles on it.

Check out the cars posted here, there may be something listed that you'll like even more.

Sorry for bringing this thread up since its been years.

I actually own this car you drove in 2009 It too was built 6-02, just like the one in your signature. I have a few questions, if you reply to the thread I'll ask them later

The odds of me punching in my vin and there's a thread about it :)

turbo, he looked at your car based on the VIN in 2009, but the car in his sig he bought in 2011

I don't think you own his old car, see what I mean?

Cool.
He may not even know that in May 2011, he bought the same car from this forum that he had asked about at a dealer back in January 2009!
Can't wait for him to respond....
