My young friend, RoyLPita works for Maroone Ford of Delray in their Service Dept, and has probably forgotten more than you will ever hope to learn about automotive maintenance.

Considering the thread size of the oil filter is 22mm, I would be willing to guess that is either a 16, or 18mm hex.
I have to agree with everybody above about the harshness of your response to Brian(RoyLPita). He is well known for being very generous on this forum, and that attitude was very uncalled for.
Edit: After looking at your Prevoius posts, i have realized that you are kinda an a$$ when it comes to the way you use words......

Since you believe that my opinion here is useless, I will not even BOTHER to research what size your project needs. In fact, you are one of the reasons here that people leave forums like this.
If you cannot respect the opinions of people who have been here longer and posted more times than you will ever have then get the HELL out.
Your kind is not welcome here.

I think the proper response was to suggest he use Vice Grips on it.
So, Don't try to fit an allen wrench in there, you won't find one that fits. Use a good pair of vice grips with new jaggedy jaws. Just be sure to NOT tighten them up too much. You WANT them to slip a bit on the threaded portion.
Good luck with the project...

Way to go making new friends on the site. Brian's a good guy and very helpful.
It likely is a metric size so none of yours will fit.
Oh NO!!! I forgot we can't get a metric tool here in the U.S! :shake:

What I think you are referring to should take a 1/2" key - or maybe it is a 13mm. A 1/2 key will work. I used a 5/16" bolt with two nuts jammed together to remove the adapter.

Really? did you also read the posts below mine in the other threads, about other members defending me?
Im sorry if I offended anyone, all I want is information. I simply thought that someone must know the size. I didn't know what size the filter threads are, thats why I ask questions. For answers, not mockery.
Im blunt and to the point in my posts, but mean no offense. Sorry about the second post again. I posted this question only to avoid spending money, that I don't have to.
Again, does anyone know the size.
Thanks/

Guess that makes them cool. Sorry but the majority of my threads have seen nothing but smartass answers that have nothing to do with the question I asked. Didn't ask you to bother with anything. I over reacted because I took the response you gave me as belittling. sorry.

And first warning? Seriously, for what. Maybe people should give the person a chance to correct or reposition the answer before the peanut gallery throws their 2 cents in.
Heck, I've never even had to cover anything up for profanity.
Again RoyL Pita, Im sorry. Never ment to offend you.

And first warning? Seriously, for what. I'll tell you for what: You've been here 4 months and have 20 posts. The person you so casually insulted has been here 5 years and has helped countless MM owners with technical advice and free OASIS reports.
Im blunt and to the point in my posts, but mean no offense. You can see how well that works. Maybe a "kinder, gentler" attitude will get you something other than "smartass answers".
Let's just refuse to answer his questions. Except with incorrect answers.

Hey, glad to hear you got things squared away.
BTW, what are you working on that requires removal of the spindle for the oil filter?

Decided to go a different route with the real oil pressure gauge setup.
Instead of messing with all the factory pressure sensors and what not.
I've got an oil filter sandwich adapter that will allow me to use a oil pressure sensor remotely mounted, and 2 other ports for additional gauges if I choose to add maybe later on at somepoint and not have to do any additional plumbing.

Sounds like a good plan. Good idea allowing for future upgrades; get the work out of the way now, less to deal with later on.

I just dont like the idea of running oil into the cabin for a gauge. Thats why I like electric sender instead.

I have had my mechanical oil pressure gauge in for several years now. Not a single drip. With the high tech lines and fittings they make today, there are really no worries.
And I never have to worry about a sender going south.

actually guys, it is an electric sending unit. I have a remote mount kit that includes a stainless steel braided 1/8npt line that goes from 1 of the ports on the oil filter sandwich adapter to the electric oil pressure sending unit.
and then run my wire from there.
I too don't like the thought of haveing fluids in the cabin area or even close. lol
I think I'm going to have to take pics so I can better explain. Its a pretty clean setup
