I have an 03 with the kooks LT's magnaflow cats, x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers with stock tips... im not quite sure if I like it or not i mean its loud but I want it to scare the EFF out of someone and be able to hear me with their windows up on the interstate when im just at cruising speed without hitting the gas I really REALLY like the sound of this cobra.... http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Mustang-Cobra-Corvette_164275.htm
if anyone has any ideas let me know I was thinking of cutting the highflow cats out.. and maybe going with a set of borla stingers.. XR-1's or the super 44 series... but keep in mind I WANT IT LOUD DEEP and to be able to feel it in ur chest... without screwing something up or breaking something

If you want louder sound you need to go chambered muffler like Flowmaster. Super 44's would be ideal and also get rid of the X-pipe. H-pipe will produce more low mid sound than X-pipe will.

We really need the sound clip of BigDogJims car. My favorite exhaust was on a 03 Cobra with the mac pro-chamber and mac cat back. It was awsome! Will 03-04 cobra cat-sims (the little connectors that trick the car into thinking it does have cats) work on the Marauder?

Get yourself some super 44s, remove the 2nd cats and some deleted tips...

Run just cats and no muffler if volume is really important to you. I don't know why... but that will be loud enough. Cops everywhere are going to be looking for you and it is going to be a lot harder to speed without drawing a ton of attention to yourself. It sounds like a cool idea until you have to drive it

For some reason, our cars just dont sound like 4V Mustangs. Is it because of the longer piping? I have the EXACT exhaust setup as a lot of 4V Stangs and my car just doesnt sound as good. If I were you, Id try a set of Stingers, I was going to but I got my exhaust setup pretty cheap.

The stock exhaust tips have a resonator inside. Delete tips are non-resonated tips.

just take a sawzall to the piping right after the cats. Just make sure to wear a hockey mask, jumpsuit, and be at a summercamp when you do it.

Marauders have the mufflers in the middle of the car, Mustangs in the rear. They will never sound the same.
BTW that Cobra (IMHO) sounded awful.

how much of a difference does it make if i get the delete tips? and the second set of cats are removed.. i guess i dont see them haha just a set of magnaflow high flows on the front and an x-pipe with kooks long tubes and magnaflow mufflers with stock tips welded back on very poorly

Longer piping, different muffler location, possibly different cams. In general, I like the sound of mine over most of the 'Stangs I've heard. There may be a half dozen I've encountered that sound as good or better, IMHO.

+1
The mufflers being so far forward helps a ton with the difference of sound, from most of what I've experienced having them that far forward helps with droning a bit, probably done because at it's core it was built to be a 'luxury' performance car.

If you want it to be ticket me loud, do the Stingers and delete the cats. If you just want a good volume increase do one or the other. Deleting the cats will give you more "popping" on deceleration as the unburnt fuel will ignite further down the piping.
Many of my Mustang friends have done the loud muffler, no cats route and have been happy for about 2 months until they either realize they had to live with that volume everyday, or get a loud exhaust ticket or 2. Then they either add cats or a quieter muffler. My experiences lead me to either:
a) keep 2 high flow cats and loud mufflers like stingers, magnapacs, 44's; or
b) delete the cats and run a normal borla, magnaflow, or flowmaster.
c) delete cats, run a loud muffler and have your neighbors hate you when you come home late at night, have your girlfriends parents know exactly what time you dropped her off late at night, have your boss know when you're late for work, and wish it was quieter 70% of the time while your driving it.
If the car isn't a daily driver, then go ahead and make it as loud as you want. Most of the people I've helped do exhaust for have daily driven them in the summer or all the time and it's met with great success. The extra loudness is usually just enough to push it over the top. Anyways, I'm rambling now, it's all personal choice, do what you want, good luck.

Thats what I figured.
And I agree with you about the sound, most Stangs are too raspy for my taste but every now and then I run across one that sounds really nice. My car impresses a lot of people, they always ask me how I got my Crown Vic to sound so good, bastards.
