Could someone let me know the diameter and the material of the factory center cap medallion with the mercury head on it? I'm looking to us it on a mild custom 56. Thanks

Need clarification.

Do you mean either the hood or trunk medallions, or the wheel center caps?

Is thickness an issue?

Sorry, I did mean the center caps from the factory alum wheels. I want to try to put them into the 56 front fender trim where a VERY expensive plastic shield was, so thickness could be an issue.

Let me see what I can come up with on dimensions for you, might be a day or two, that pose a problem?

2 5/8" and you can easily remove the Gods Head as it is stuck on the center cap with double sided tape or glue!!

Thank you for the info. It has been most helpful. The existing trim housing measures 2 1/8 so I hope I can whittle it down a little to make it fit. Thanks again.
