I think what Bradley is saying is that being forced into accepting a fistful of dollars for your treasured MM can make you feel pretty lousy, but that trying to get those dollars, and failing to do so, would make you feel even worse. It'd be like a slap in the face, it could make you feel that your treasure is everyone else's garbage.

I would have to agree.

But, I'm an optimist, so I would assume it was something I'm doing wrong, like not enough advertising, or advertising in the wrong places. Or, I might blame the economy. But surely, it's not because nobody wants my MM.

That is the harsh reality.

It's a crap economy with people still remembering the high gas prices of last summer and suspecting they'll return this summer. I'm sure there's not a lot of people looking for a very niche car that gets less than stellar gas mileage right now. At let's face it, folks, most people never "got" this car from the very beginning. That's part of what makes it special. Right?

Yea, It took me 2 e-bay auctions to sell mine. I should of sold it locally though. I didn't put a damn sign in it. After it sold a neighbor came over and saw the new one and said "where is your black one?" I told him I sold it and he said "DAMN IT I wanted it, I would of given you top dollar for it!" Note this was my first conversation EVER with this neighbor that lives like 6 houses down. I guess he loved it. He said if I sell this one I have to give him first dibs.. LOL

Lesson learned. THROW A DAMN SIGN in your car and park it out front. I sold my wife's 2 other cars like that and didn't even think to do that with mine.

I live out in the middle of nowhere so that won't work. But yeah I am trying to sell two older cars right now, V8 american stuff, and even at give away prices can't get rid of them to save my life. I have people telling me they will buy them if they can get a cash advance on their tax returns. lol

Put em in the paper, my grandparents got rid of their old caprice estate that way.

I don't do papers. I am getting enough exposure, I have had a phone call every day for one of the cars, sometimes multiple different calls a day. The problem in the low price range I am selling is that people want you to give them the car for free basically (or they want you to set up a payment plan and let them pay weekly. If you can't afford a $1500 car in one shot you can't afford it! I am not a bank)

It's a good question but it does not bother me. The MM is a car you love or not. You don't buy it for the mileage, you don't buy it because everyone else has one etc. It is a special vehicle that occupies a certain niche in the market.
If you have to sell, then price it that way. I don't have to sell but I want to. However I know the car is not one for anyone. It will take time.
I agree that advertising it is the way to go but the local newspaper is not too great. I have put my car on here and here only for specific reasons but I will expand.
Want a black? Plenty to choose from. SB? Not that many but a decent selection. DTR is the next rarest. Not too many of those around. Blue? Good luck.
Still, compared to other cars, the MM is rare and a good one is even rarer.

Blue was my color of choice, till I found out 04's had Traction control, transmission improvements and seat heaters (optional).
If it comes to selling the Marauder, I hope it is over with quick.
Good luck on your sale.

Probably just as well if it takes time. In the cold we have, I go out in the morning and start the cars. Her Honda, my Jeep and the MM. Getting into it is pleasure every day. I don't take it out because I do not want it crappy from the roads.

I have a Blue simply due to chance. It was sitting in the Dealership. I never heard of them until that moment. I took it for a test drive and went down the highway and I put the hammer down once..my jaw dropped. Had to have.
Color choice, I really like the DTR. Saw one only once in a lot with a sunroof and liked it.

Getting off topic though. We will see on the sale. They are truly great cars.
