I caught some stray voltage! I was removing the plug closest to the firewall on the driver's side. (don't know the cylinder #) I've changed plugs many times, never been shocked before! I have a nice purple welt on my arm. :( where it contacted a line running off the master cylinder. I think this is weird. has this happened to anyone else?

Also, after I got the plugs installed and started her up, she hesitated when I gave her some gas! She's never hesitated before. This is the first mod I've done, if you can call plugs a mod! lol Has this happened to anyone? Dennis said I didn't need the chip to run IT-20s and the 180 stat. (yet to be installed)

So, before I call Dennis, I thought I'd ask y'all.

Thanks!
Tom

That's really weird! Is there some sort of capacitor or something that stores a charge somewhere in the system?

Man...Unhook your battery before you do any moddin', doesn't matter if you're touchin' anything electrical or not... :)

If it's running fine now, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

This reminds me of the time I got shocked off the rear bumber of a car I was working on... turns out the trouble light I was using had a short and was electrifying the whole frame.

The use of battery chargers and the like can have the same affect. You can set up a pretty nasty ground loop. It does wonders for your hair (it's cheaper than a perm!).

That's just shocking!

(someone had to say it)

near your master cylinder? Did you check your wire harness for any signs of it starting to be "sliced"? You may have contacted a bared always hot wire?

Once I touched the spark plug on a lawn mower when I was 12 while it was running...Once.

Maybe she's mad you didn't give her a run down the track?http://smilies.sofrayt.com/1/950/wink.gif

Now that explains a whole lot!

 you might be right Barry!

just to clarify, I got zapped by a line coming from the master cylinder. I was wrenching away, when my forearm touched it. BAM!

The other issue,.. the hesitation seems to have stopped. hmm,.. maybe the EEC just had to get used to it? I dunno.

Another thing I noticed after tooling area the Greater Dallas area today, it that my gas milage is a bit better. I filled up and zeroed the trip odometer, I'll post the difference after I burn through a tank.
