All,

You will undoubtedly notice, but while viewing posts, on the left hand side of each post, under your username, you can now view your MEMBER NUMBER.

Some of our vendors will be requesting your member number when you make purchases to qualify for discounts that are exclusive to mercurymarauder.net members.

Sweet! I'm all about discounts! Out of curiosity, ... are there any vendors this applies to that are not site sponsors?

I am making this post just so I can see my number.

Hey, by the way, how come you got number "1"? LML told me that he was in charge and made me pay all of his expenses all weekend under the threat that I would be kicked off the site by the "Supreme Ruler" (as he referred to himself).

Logan

How did we get numbers? We have 1,122 members but have seen some members with higher numbers. Would the members deleted for inactivity be acounted for too?

Logan
09-23-2003, 02:37 PM
That's exactly it. While there are 1122 current, active members, there've been alot more than that signed up and deleted for inactivity or whatever.

who on earth would even care about a member number? - it's not like we are going to remember it. I refuse to even acknowledge this meaningless number. I am going to pretend it does not even exist. To me, the member number is just some worthless 3-digit number plucked out of air and assigned to me by some computer gearhead hellbent on sucking the individuality out of each and every one of us.

I renounce my number.

If I am a number, is my son a mere decimal? In a few months will he be a fraction? Was he a negative number before he was born?
Are baby boys even numbers and baby girls odd numbers? or is it the other way around? Perhaps his number would be a reflection of his age. If this is the case, does this mean I am 354 years old? Is 354 my member number? I can't really remember - I wish I could come up with an easy way of remembering these things. I have to remember soooo many things during the course of a day. I have to remember to breath; I have to remember to eat, I have to remember to think of a zillion excuses to take the car out at night.

I have a headache from all this thinking and remembering - how 'bout selling some Marauder-brand aspirin in the company store?

Actually, marauderman, as much "69" would appeal to me on any level, I am "1096".

So far, the most descriptive 10-code I found for myself (1096) is:

QUINCY & ADAMS COUNTY TEN CODES: 10-96 MENTAL SUBJECT

Just as an aside, is this the most popular and most replied to thread in mm.net history? If not, it must be pretty close!

Hmmm.... my number is the same one I play in the lottery, my 3digit code I use for work computer, real close to my bank and credit card pin (yes, same number on all cards), and my wife's birth month and year. Is this just a coincidence, or is #1 really our BIG BROTHER!!!!
