Question 1. My oil dipstick just kind of disappeared... can anyone tell me how long they are?

Question 2. My parking/emergency brake has NO pedal feel whatsoever. I would assume it has been that way since I got the car. The emergency brake light randomly turns on and off while I'm driving. Apparently, to replace the shoes for it, i would have to remove the entire axle on that side of the car to replace it, but i would still have some kind of pedal feel, wouldn't I? I havent looked into this extensively, cause its winter and its cold, but it seems more like a cable problem. Has anybody had this problem, or similar, and how did you fix it?

Thanks

If it's the brake adjustment you don't have to remove the axles. It has an adjustment like the old drums. Use a brake shoe horn to adjust.;)

your dip sticj "dissapered"?

Well, i too it to a shop to get it worked on, and they gave it back without my dipstick, so i asked them about it, and they said i didnt have one when i gave them the car. So, i guess it just grew legs and walked away.

If your E-brake shoes were screwed up you'd probably hear it. Its makes a loud obnoxious sound.

Why don't you just test the E-brake? Push it down and put the car in drive and feather the gas, If it moves they're screwed up.

You do not have to remove the axles to replace the e-brake shoes.

But before you get that far, be sure they aren't simply out of adjustment or the cable isn't snapped.

Yeah, im pretty sure its the cable, as i can put the pedal completely to the floor with little/no resistance.
