I'm taking my wife on a surprise trip to NYC next month and was wondering if there are parking garages/areas that we can leave the car at and grab a taxi into the city for a couple days. The hotel has valet parking but I really don't want to drive in the city if it can be avoided.
Thanks!

Beiber Bus here in Reading or Kutztown runs to NYC daily multiple times.... drops at the Port Auth.
Come on up, I'll drop you in Kutztown ( 10 min away) and your car can stay at my place. Then I'll get you when you get back.
Just a thought!

Let me know when you are coming up and I can arrange safe parking for you on the East Side of Manhattan in the 30's or in Queens if you prefer. Richy

I love to drive in the caverns of NYC. My favorite parking spot is the center median in Times Square. Though NYPD tends to get irritated. Just dont stay too long.

Contact the hotel and see how they suggest you go into NYC....

Up by Liguarida, (sp?) I stayed at the Crown Plaza a number of times.
Their parking garage is attached to the Hotel and it has/had 24 hr security too.

Have you considered taking the train from maybe Baltimore? Otherwise, if you are staying in a hotel, they may well have secured parking. It might make better sense to drive in and park there. I personally wouldn't leave my Marauder parked across the Hudson in that part of New Jersey. And to leave it farther out near where I live means relying on bus service. The park & ride near me doesn't allow overnight parking anymore.
I drove into Washington DC this summer which is a similar experience to driving into NYC. Parked safely for a couple nights @ the Capitol Holiday Inn. No problem. Enjoy yourselves in New York. It's a great town!

You can leave it at my house in Fort Lee, NJ. Fort Lee is on the Jersey side of the Hudson River. Fort Lee is also home of the George Washington Bridge. I can run across the river to the Port Authority Terminal on 178th Street or run you down to Weehawken and you can take the ferry across.
