with a DR tune on the marauder, am i going to hurt the car by doing a J-mod to it?

No, I have the J-mod and a tranny tune. Works like a charm.

Yeah, I have the same question, what's a J-Mod?

I would suggest you return line pressure to "Stock" as the J-Mod will increase shift firmness which could be unpleasant or damaging!!:argue:

Don't ask me how I know!!:shake:

Marauderjack:burnout:

PS: I still have an OEM separator plate if anyone wants to go back to stock!!:D

Yeah, what he said.
I know who tuned Paul's car - he tuned mine too (thanks again Paul!) and he left the line pressure at normal because of the J-mod.

Yeah, I have the same question, what's a J-Mod?The J-mod is a "home-grown" shift kit designed by 4R70W guru Jerry Wroblewski, one of the principle designers of this transmission. You won't find anyone who know more about it than he does.

Basically, you enlarge a couple of holes in the separator plate and remove or swap out some springs. This improves shift firmness and timing to a performance level from the soft cushy factory settings.

If you do the J Mod it mat not be necessary to run as much line pressure, but it will noy hurt you may have a VERY firm shft.

dennis,
on the tune, is the line pressure unlocked so i could lower it myself?

i don't really know anything, since the tune was installed by the original owner several years ago...

You can adjust the full throttle pressure shifts but not part throttle.

Ted, we're trying to get a large group together, and do a group buy at a local trans shop, probably 10 of us.
