Does anyone have any pictures of a Catch Can Installation on the Marauder.
I was thinking of something like the Steeda set up or the Jegs Oil / Air Seperator.
I do not have a supercharger, just looking for any photos from anybody who has done this on a non superchearged Marauder.

What happens when an engine heats up is that the coolant thats in there not only gets hot, but also expands. When it expands, it needs somewhere to go, or the system will blow a leak somewhere. When the pressure inside the cooling system hits the rated pressure of the radiator cap, the cap opens and allows the coolant to escape from the high-pressure environment of the cooling system to atmospheric pressure.
Long ago, perhaps in the 60's or maybe earlier, the coolant would just pour onto the ground (:confused:that might not be true, but afaik, it is). Someone eventually decided to use a container to catch the 'overflow' coolant - a 'catch can'.
The physics haven't changed - coolant still expands and needs to go somewhere - but the catch can has evolved somewhat. They seem to be more integrated,
Marauders already have a 'catch can' - it's the thing that sits on top of the fan shroud, and it also houses the system pressure cap (or 'rad cap' as they were once called).
Some companies make nice, chromed-out catch cans for old hot rods and such - custom cars where everything has been fabbed. That hot coolant has to go somewhere.

Not on a Marauder but heres a 'fabbed' one.

A Catch Can is an Oil / Air Seperator that goes in between the PCV Valve and the intake manifold.

I thought it was this:

I will get you one of mine today. I have the Moroso setup from D'agostino Racing. No PCV valve, just two braided lines to the can with a breather on top.

I'd like to see that also.

I'd send a pic of mine, but I'm supercharged. He asked for NA apps.......

I am sorry O's Fan Rich, yours with the supercharger might not help, but what kind did you put on there.
I am thinking this Air / Oil Seperator would be a good thing because any oil vapors that get passed the PCV Valve would obviously go into the intake manifold and the oily stuff could get on the throttle body plates and other areas.
This may cause some driveability problems down the road. Jegs has a nice looking air / oil seperator for about $44.00, I might check it out or maybe the Moroso unit.

I always thought a catch can was for coolant overflow:confused:
Boy, was I ever off!

No, you can have coolant catch cans as well. We're just discussing oil breathers / pcv type systems now.

You're probably thinking of the coolant reservoir, also know as the overflow tank.
