Most of you guys who store your MM's in the winter will probably cringe when you read this, but I've been jonesing for a ride in my MM for several weeks now. I've had it locked away since late November. Since the roads wern't too sloppy, I braved the elements and took it for a 15 mile ride. It started up like it shoud, I dunno if I'm not used to it, but the exhaust seemed to cackle more than I remember. That's a good thing. Anyway, my road is snow packed and icy. It was a challenge to get my MM out to the main road. How the heck do people drive these things in winter with stock rims and tires?
After letting it warm up fpr 10 minutes, and once I got to the main road, I turned left onto the road and gunned it. Man, I lost the rear end as fast as you can snap your fingers. I corrected and kept in the throttle. It was nice to "walk" the MM down the street. I took it up on the expresway and rolled along at a smooth speed. I turned up the toons. As I watched my "smooth as glass" black hood quickly become white from salt dust, I turned around and headed home. I almost got stuck trying to back up my driveway and into my garage. I have a heated garage, so I washed off the MM and tucked it away again. Man, will spring ever get here?
Hat's off to those who drive your MM's in the snow. That's not for me.:puke:

Im with you, Its been cold but the street's have been clear. It's my chance for me to take the car out to stretch it's legs. Otherwise the car is in the garage sleeping until warmer weather.

You guys are brave. I had the marauder in the snow once, and the next day I bought a 4x4 junker! She is sittin pretty right now under the car cover lookin shinny as new until the weather warms up and we have that first good rain to wash away the salt, and that day can not come soon enough!

She gets put away the week they talk about flurries and come out like i said the week after the first good rain that washes away the salt. It is tough living up here! I go out in the garage and sit in it and listen to the radio sometimes just to make it through the winter :bigcry:

You will appreciate not driving it in the salt and snow in the spring!! The wheels are a pain to clean when they get salt on them. the inside gets nasty and impossible to clean!! Congrats again on the new purchase, in the spring you will wonder why you didnt sell a kidney or something to get one sooner!

Thanks for keeping them under wraps!
If I ever need another Marauder, it will be swell to have some garaged beauties to choose from.
Both the Panthers I drive make enough power in this critical cold, to break the wheels loose @ 80

I took the cover off & took my marauder out for a cruise this past saturday night & had a blast! It was about 5 degrees outside & the roads were nice & dry. I have thoughts of selling it from time to time, but one quick ride & I am in love all over again!

Actually its 95 mph Brad, ask me how i know! Considering our cars have almost the exact same equipment i'm sure yours is the same. Don't try it!
Heh, I remember two times I took out the MM in uninclinate weather, one when it was raining I was at a stop light before an underpass driving a girl home. Green light and I hit it, not wide open, but at a fast clip to show off. A little bit of slip till I get in the underpass cause it was pretty dry under there, but when I came out the other side, the rear end started to step out to the right towards a gas station. It came within turning a full 90 degrees but I stayed calm, and kept the front wheels pointed at down the street, and eased off the gas and didn't brake and she came arround and righted just before becoming horizontal.
And the second was when I first took it out in the snow and I wanted to play arround on an empty, wide open, one way street with no parked cars, and I speed up and braked suddenly and slid right and left for a block or two and did that a few time till I felt comfortable. Kinda like my own personal winter training.
Ever since I haven't taken it out in rain or snow.

Yeah, I made the mistake of taking it out in the snow. Ended up in a ditch and now I need a new bumper.

Damn, that's a fugly bumper, sorry to hear it, bet you'll get her fixed up better than before. We had ice today, only my third time to drive the MM on ice, she did well as always.
It must be tough to keep your car under wraps for months, y'all should move south, it can be 80 degrees one day, sleet and freezing rain the next but hey, we do get the 80's more than the sleet! Avg high is 55 these days.

I kindof "cheat" in terms of winter storage. My MM is in the garage for the winter but every time the roads are clear, I'll crack it out for a spin. Get it nice and hot, stirs the fluids and paste a smile on my face...then back to the garage...til next time...

I bought my MM 2003, 6 yrs. ago to DRIVE not to sit under some canvas or be garaged till "the weather improves", damn these cars were meant to driven daily, don't make them into "trailer queens", why buy a car like this & "gee" can' t wait for the good weather to drive her ! Can never understand why anyone buys a MM or any other muscle car of any year to sit in a garage, enjoy it & drive it, nuff said, I'm taking my MM out for a drive & it is 25 degrees with snow on the ground, so sit in your MM in the garage & listen to the "toons", Bye-----------------

I don't use my stock wheels and tires! No way in hell would I even dare try that! (See Below) For the winter my car becomes the Grand Rauder with the MGM wheels and I throw about 300 pounds of weight in the trunk the night before the storm. Car handles like a tank when prepared correctly!

My Marauder has been away since Nov.1.... 2more months of ice & snow, salt plus all the traction sand that flies at you. Then it's all the pot holes & dirt for another month. We rust proof our daily drivers cuz they will rot out in 5 years if you don't. If you want your Marauder to die young just bring it to Timmins Ontario Canada. PS Toyota does all their cold weather testing up here. We've had -40 F & averaged -20 for the last 2 months. Everyone up here can hold our beer can anyone in their right mind blame us??? C'mon May!!!

The Marauder is the best car for the snow I've owned. All those bags of kitty litter in the trunk and the air suspension takes care of it. Just took her in on Thursday for the annual Krown rust control treatment.
