View Full Version : Cooling Fan Running?

I was letting my car warm up in the driveway this morning and I noticed a high pitched sound coming from the engine compartment. It sounded like a cooling fan running. Could my cooling fan be running? If so, why? It is like 20 degrees out and my cooling fan is running! Maybe that is why my heat in my car goes cold when I am sitting at a stop light! Any help or prior experience and solutions with this subject would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Tom

Your cooling fan will run on high when an air pocket is in the engine.
The coolant gets super hot in the engine (signaling the fan to run) but its not circulating through the radiator to be cooled down.
This also explains your lack of heat.

So just purge the system Zack? Pretty easy just loosen the fitting on the crossover tube?
