I just remembered something today. Back in fall of 2004 I was driving Marky Ramone (of The Ramones) from Cleveland, OH to Chicago, IL. We were listening to Chuck Berry the whole ride. When we had to make a stop for gas at a rest stop the cashier asked Marc if he was having any fun yet.

He said "Am I having fun yet???" Marc was a little confused. The clerk said "I saw you guys riding in that black Marauder. Must be a fun car." He was like "It's not my car, it's his." Pointing to me.

It's kinda funny the car got the attention over one of The Ramones, but keep in mind this was 8 years after they broke up.

BTW I haven't talked to him in about a year and a half. He never calls back and his wife doesn't like me.

Memories....

i hear he's a real SOB in person.
saw MR and the intruders at the euclid tavern in 2000 (i think?) and he hid in his van before and afterwards, wouldn't talk to anyone, or set anything up...

I'm not takin' sides here, but................. try to remember that all these "rock stars" see and hear all kinds of ***** from all kinds of people all the time. Believe me. I've met some of the biggest Bands/musiciansand just general hangers. Gene simmons said it best "if they don't want to be bothered. then don't bother them. i.e. Don't bother to buy there music, don't bother to go to there shows, and don't bother to talk about them...." It just shows you who's init for the money, and who's init for the 15 min.'s P. S. the ramones were GOOD in there day....

Oh yea, just remembered myself, Went to see WASP, Metal Church, and a few others up in Detroit a couple years ago and long story short, ended up diagnosing and replacing the plugs on Metal Churches tour bus/Winnabego. really great guys, were supposed to B in Cincy 4 days laters with the promise of 4 tix and comp. drinks all nite..... Held up there end of the stick and we were WAYYYYY-STED!!!!!!!!!! So the moral is keep'em all in perspective.... some are arse holeo's and some R Glad yer still there for them and the're music (I still can't spell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

the ramones were GOOD they were awesome at first but ended up getting a bit stale. though some of their later stuff (we want the airwaves, i wanna live, etc) was pretty decent too...

johnny ramone was cool as hell. he was gracious enough to let me interview him for my radio show. we talked for like an hour about baseball, cleveland, food, and other dumb stuff. after the interview, when we went back to music, he stayed on the phone with us for another hour or so and told us ramones stories that he didn't want to tell on the air...i wish i could remember them!

I am extremely jelious of you. Johnny was the one I wanted to meet more than anyone and Marc never gave me the chance. I agree that some later stuff really sucked, but every album had a few decent songs on it or at least a Ramones Styled cover. Nothing can beat Leave Home though, I like it more than anything else they ever made.

Please tell me a Ramones story sometime.

Or perhaps what Iggy Pop would do after a concert when he was in a band called The Stooges... before Punk Rock got it's jumpstart. :)

Or perhaps what Iggy Pop would do after a concert when he was in a band called The Stooges... before Punk Rock got it's jumpstart. :) without iggy, i doubt we would have bands like the ramones. you have to remember, dee dee and johnny were both HUGE stooges fans.

for the record, now that you've got me thinking about it...my favorite songs, ENDing with my favorite:

slug
i believe in miracles
i'm affected/danny says (gotta be together though)
i just wanna have something to do
you should never have opened that door
havana affair
you're gonna kill that girl
i don't care
don't come close
crummy stuff
bonzo goes to bitburg
we want the airwaves
i want you around
i don't wanna walk around with you/today your love, tomorrow the world (they have to be together)
questioningly
i wanna live

my buddy, who is the biggest ramones fan i know of, would probably kill me if he read that list. oh well.

leave home is probably one of my LEAST favorite albums...to poppy IMHO. i really dig road to ruin but i hate that "sedated" is on it.

S-L-U-G!

I will make a list for you when I have more time tonight.

I will say this...

I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend really turned me onto them because it sounded like a 50s song to me.
