I purchased a set of WES 4" tips and I'm very satisfied with the product. Kudos to WES, thank you. I didn't think about removing the rear CATs until a few days ago. Anyone in MD know if removing the rear cat will effect emission testing?

P.S. I now have a set factory tips if anyone is interested.

Depends on where you live in Maryland. Down here in St Mary's County, we don't have emissions testing so it's no problem. Maybe someone from the northern regions can answer up.

Thanks for the emissions info, now to make time to have them removed. No they are not Megs, these are the ones he had made.

You won't have any problems with emissions.

As long as you don't throw a 'MIL'/Check engine light.

No exhaust sniffer on the dyno rollers...they just plug into OBDII car's computers and check to see if you have any recent codes.

Silght revision/correction:
As long as you don't throw a 'MIL'/Check engine light. Agree

The MD Emissions Stations just plug into OBDII car's computers and check to see if you have any recent codes. No codes no problems.

They use an exhaust sniffer with the dyno rollers for Pre-OBD V(?) cars (i.e., the older NON-universal OBD plug under the dash, like my old '84 Olds)

Cheers,

I've had my rear cats off for 2 years now, ZERO problems. The 2nd set of O2 sensors are directly in front of the 2nd set of cats so you're good to go. If you have a performance tune from one of the vendors they turn off the rear O2 sensors anyways but even if you are still stock it won't throw any codes or fail emissions.
