Marauder Sightings are lighter in the winter, at least from the north where many put their MMs away, but in a month or two, sightings will start picking up again. It would be helpful if an admin posted and stickied a guidelines thread so people can provide useful thread titles to forum members and public lurkers. It is helpful when a thread title includes the city and state, date/time, and maybe intersection or landmark, and then describes the sighting more in the message body. It is entirely unhelpful to see thread titles like "hey did u get a cup off coffee from Bp last week/".
Some examples:
Great Thread titles:
Lorton, VA -- Black MM 12 Feb 09 5 PM
Black MM 7:40am I-84W in CT, near Buckland Hills Mall
Blk at Mobil on 74 and K....Sussex,WI
"OK" Thread Titles:
Blue on 495, MD?
Silver MM in KCMO
Marauder in Noblesville (getting iffy here)
Poor Thread Titles:
Black at Best Buy
cape sighting
BLue SIghting
Who Went To Home Depot On New Years Day?
So my suggestion is a stickied thread with a title like "Marauder Sightings Guidelines -- READ HERE BEFORE POSTING A SIGHTING"
And guidelines like:
Include City, State/Province, Date/Time, color and other quick detail in the Subject line
Talk more about the specifics of the sighting and story in the message body
This will save us all some time in trying to find out if we or someone we know was spotted so we can respond and give electronic high fives over the interweb.
