I've got to replace the shocks on our 95 GM.
It has the OEM 'touring suspension' which included the cast aluminum wheels and dual exhaust.
All 4 look like the good old standard tube shocks

Does anyone have good/bad experiences with aftermarket shock absorbers on this model?

I really don't want to spend a lot of money, nor do I need the best shocks in the world for the car.

John...you probably have experience with these.

CVPI ones from Motorcraft should work fine. I put them on my 2nd 92 GMLSHPP.

Thanks,
What kind of $$ are we talking for the Motorcrafts?

I have no idea. it has been close to 4 years since I bought them.

Give Ray "The Dealer" a call to see what the prices are nowadays.

+1

I put CVPI shocks in the front last year, and I liked the ride much better. Firmer than Marquis shocks, but not too harsh plus the car doesn't dive as much on hard braking. I have a set of the CVPI shocks for the rear which I'll put in once the weather warms up alittle.

I put these on my 93LX HPP and they work great. I don't rember the price though.

Rears listed for $64.00 a piece 6 months ago, walk in price, discount $42.00 a piece. Fronts are probably about the same. Replaced worn out Bilsteins and glad I went this way.

I recommend the '02 CVPI variation if you want better handling and dive control.

Motorcraft p/ns:

Front: AS-1064 (need 2)
Rear: AA-527 (need 2)

I was using these on my Merc before upgrading to Edelbrocks.
