No more Flowmasters, had some Aero Turbine 2525 series mufflers and a complete 2.5" custom H-pipe made up and installed on Friday.
I would like to thank DTRMiguel for the leg work he did on getting the great deal on these mufflers. I like them so much I might end up putting a pair on my 89 5.0.

Exhaust mods: stock manifolds, stock 1st set of cats in downtubes, 2nd set of cats removed, custom 2.5" H-pipe, Aero Turbine 2525 series mufflers, stock over axle pipe and Meg's 3.5" resonator delete tips.

That is nice! Would definately need to turn the volume up on my auto-adjust radio. Or maybe forget the radio altogether!;)

Actually the cruising drone from these mufflers are a lot less than the Flowmasters I had. Aero Turbine mufflers are straight-thru and Flowmasters are chambered (made to make more sound).

No, wasn't allowed in the back while the boss was there because of insurance reasons. Next time I get the car on a lift I'll snap some pics or when I finish the rest of the 2.5" piping for the over axle.

Your's will sound a lot meaner with full exhaust since I still have half stock pipe and the stock manifolds.

This is what alway's happens, I see and hear something and I gotta have it. I guess exhaust is coming sooner then planned.

I guess it's great to be single. :D

I want video!! Every GM product I ever drove has most of its power down low, If you can take him off the line and hold him there til about 60MPH, you may even start to pull away.

Go to youtube and search up aero turbine, even some of the imports that have the mufflers on them sound half way decent.

Yeah I have my stock ones, their not the best looking though cause the original owner never cleaned them from the looks of them. I can get some pics of them for you and let you decide if you want them or not. I'll PM you with the pics when I get them later this evening.

No need to adjust radio at all. No drone like the Flows or Mag's just sweet music.

Nice :) do you have pictures of the install?

I have a pic in my gallery.

Darn, just when I think I found the set up I want you come along with these.
Now I've got to decide to go with 14" Magna Flows and 2 1/2" with H pipe all the way back or these with 2 1/2" all the way with an H pipe.I've already got the 22" Magna Flow delete style tips.

Either one will sound good, really just comes down to the price. These normally sell for $125 each, DTRMiquel got a hook up on them and I got two of them for $150 shipped. I couldn't pass up that deal.

WOW Chris!

Those new mufflers sound GREAT!

(Being a straight through design I thought they might be too 'raspy' and too loud.)

I'll have to check out the install next time we are at a get CAM together.

During a cold cold start up I can notice just a tiny bit of rasp but quickly goes away after the pipes warm up. That is something I thought about also but because they have the air foil type of resonator inside the muffler it really helps to cancel it out. I've heard these mufflers on diesel trucks and it was music to my ears. My friend who does exhaust work his shop sells these out the butt, he recommend them to me before I even heard about them and puts a lot of them on LX vehicles (Chargers, Magnums, 300) cars and said they sound really good he knew I would like them.

That was a d**n good deal. I paid a lot more for mine. Before people started hearing about them. Have had mine for two years now.

Removed it from my GPS lol.

I think I like them...I wonder how thunderous it would sound with the 4'' tips...:hmmm:
I've been thinking the same thing BUT I would only do them if I do 2.5 from manifolds/headers to mufflers them 3" over axle to the tips.

The video doesn't do it justice, I was fixing my friends brakes last night and started my car up in my shop and she jumped from the sound lol. I am just really happy there is almost no rasp at all.

For the CAMmers, I went through the Harbor and Fort McHenry tunnels today oooooooooooo the sweet sound, the couple thumbs up I got and the grin on my 45 min ride home.......priceless.

Oh and I've seen a slight increase in gas mileage already. I drive the same route M, T, W, Thur, F and Sun so my fillups and mileage is almost on clock work. I don't top my tank off and from Full to 3/4 line I usually get about 100-110 miles, I'm going on 147 right now. No tire psi change, nothing taken out of the car, I've read a few reviews where people talked about getting slight mpg increase. I'm going to monitor it for the next 4 fillups to confirm that the mpg increase isn't a fluke.

What is it that causes a torque converter to make that sound ? Is it the vanes hitting the housing ? Is it harmful ?

I thought it was the alternator or A/C clutch, mine did it twice with the stock TC when I loaded my Lidio XCal tune in my DTR.,the TC's still stock but it doesn't do it anymore.
