I'm trying to find out what size Magnaflow satin stailess steel oval muffler I need... 11", 14", 18"? These measurements are from the magnaflow website and are for the muffler body only (not the overall length). I want to stay with the stock exhaust pipe size of 2.25". What I plan on doing is deleting the 2 rear cats, change the stock mufflers and retain the stock tips. I may change tips depending on the sound level I'm seeking. So, is there a certain size I have to go with in order for everything to fit properly? Thank you

I have the 14 inch model 11235. I like them. The muffler guy didn't seem to have any trouble with welding them in. In general, the shorter the muffler body, the less muffling it will do - so shorter will be louder.
My Magnaflows were VERY quiet for the first week or two until they "broke in" a bit. That was with daily driving.
Here's 14 inchers (11235) at full throttle:

They are quiet enough to sneak up people but sound very nice under heavy leadfooting.

5 years ago when I first got my Marauder, I met a guy from the board, Muslhead, had the same setup on his car with the 18" Magnaflows. That car sounded awesome. I personally don't want to remove the cats from my car, but his sounded great that way.

18" shell length replace the stock mufflers on Panthers perfectly. A shorter muffler will require some added pipe. I have the 18"ers and the car is almost stock quiet until about 1/2 throttle. After that its just sweet music but not obnoxious and never any drone.

Thanks for the help. If I choose to go with Magnaflow, which would be better--4"X9" or the 5"X8"? Or does it really matter?

If you don't want to add pipe, you will need 18". If you want to go shorter for more noise, then go 11" with a 3.5" extension on each end or 7" on one end.

Hello I just had the manaflow mufflers installed. 4x9x18. I have replaced the stock mufflers and used a 4x9x11 for an X-pipe. With the stock tips the car is as quit as stock at idle up under WOT it great. I up the system to 2 1/2 from cats back and left the over axle pipe and tips. Hope this helps. The exhaust work was done by Hightech transmission and exhaust in Marietta Ga. Great work and sound.
