I just got a call from friend I help get the SCT software for, in Canada who has sold as a lot of us have Xca1 he updated his software, now SCT has removed Xcal1 from the software and removed the ability to save a file as XTR files, I have not updated so I still have it.

There is now talk that Xcal 2 will not be supported and this ability may be removed from SCT tuners software as well. Forcing every one to buy the Xcal 3, again this is just a rumor, but it is fact on the Xcal 1 already.

I'll be more pissed than a blind man at a strip club. If SCT does that they will likely lose alot of customers.

All a dealer has to do is call up and request the old version of the software.
They can install it right to the desktop remotely as well.

Wouldn't you think someone would have thought of that before this if it were that simple? Is this maybe something SCT has decided to do only because of the PR backlash?

i was told today that xcal 1 is dead no more,, xcal 2 will still work so far?

I was told this also today so I am going, to go in and try this now, and I had Xcal 1 on my home computer when I installed the dongle it said I had to do a update when I did Xcal 1 went away along with the ability to send XTR files, but I do not send XTR files any way because they can be compromised, but the taking of the ability to program Xcal 1 has caused a up roar, so I will go see if it has been reinstated.

As of tonight it has not been reinstated.

Vortech347 - blind men in Florida are not as pissed as blind men in most other states... or so I'm told... not that I would ever venture in such a place... well, ok, maybe once or twice back when I was younger... just don't tell on me...

I spoke to SCT today, and they are not going to release Xcal 1 software again, if you are a dealer they may give you a 30 day extension to move all of your xcal 1 stock out, but after 30 days when you open up advantage it will ask for a update and the software will again be updated and XCal 1 ability will again go away. Now even if you have a pro racer package that uses a dongle if you do a update, its gone. You then would have to buy a Xcal 3.

What about SF Devices Dennis?

I am sorry what is SF, Xcal 1 is gone the old blue tuner is gone, Xcal 2 will be here for at least a year, Xcal 3 is the tuner for now and SCT has been able to send out firmware updates that makes this reliable like Any thing you get use to using it and it is always a challenge to change, but that is part of life.

You should know what an SF Device is lol. You sent me it instead of the Xcal2 that I paid for.

SF stands for Strategy Flash part number 9415. Has no back light or other nice features that the Xcal2 has.

I just call them Xcal 2 this software will be around for at least a year, and there are still some Xcals new still out there. I have them if you want one return your car back to stock. I will send this out today free of charge. And you send me the old one. What I am doing is installing firmware updates on all Xcal 3 before I send them out. So customers do not have any issues as many are if yol look around on the net on Xcal 3.

Send me a brand new Xcal2 or a used one? My SF Device was also used lol.

From a past discussion we had you offered me a brand new Xcal3 as long as I sent in my SF device first. Like I said before that wasn't an option cause I need a tune for my mods since my car is daily driven and trying to drive with a stock tune would be a nightmare.

I'm not trying to bash you or anything, just simple conversation in a polite manner. We just need to find a happy medium. I would be fine with a new Xcal2 unit sent out first then return my SF Device, I'll cover the return postage on the unit. Let me know if that works for you?

Yup, people need to get used to it. The X1 is dead and the X2 is already on the chopping block.
