not sure on the year fairly new maybe 02+ all digital gauges 28k miles check engine light is on everything else works besides the gas guage it constantly shows empty even if you put gas in it? im thinking bad sending unit but it doesnt have that many miles on it? i dont know help me out its my 98yr old gpas car haha yes he really is 98 he will be 99 in july 09 old sum *****

Could be a sending unit, but it is most likely a wiring problem, either broken or corroded, from the sending unit to the gauge cluster (Ground should be pink/orange(or just find any good ground to use, and the signal wire should be yellow/white) these colors are based off a 2004 MGM diagram. The output signal should vary between .5-4.5v if operating correctly, if I remember correctly.

do the wires run along framerail? on left side im assuming
