Or you could look at it another way. If Toyota wants to spend some of their advertizing budget to support a hardcore Ford-Lincoln-Mercury site, why not take full advantage of it. Heck, most people haven't even seen it and those who have didn't pay it much mind at all. I suspect that I see Toyota ads thousands of times and none of them has even remotely made me consider buying a Toyota ... or a Nissan ... or a Hyundai .... or ..... you get the picture. With all those ads .... none of them has even gotten me to visit one of their dealerships. I just ain't interested at all. Might as well be dead blank space for all of the attention those Toyota ads get here. That's JMHO. :P

I actually think it's the height of irony that Toyota would pay for ads on a hardcore FLM car enthusiast's site.

I'm not at all offended by that. Look at it this way, if you pulled into your local gas station, filled up, and went in to pay for the gas, and the guy behind the counter told you it was $10.00 less, thanks to the local Toyota dealer who was running a ad campaign that included $10.00 of free gas to anyone who stopped at that station; would you be offended, or would you be compelled to stop by the dealership and look at the cars there?

I sure as heck wouldn't, but I'd be darn pleased that I got that $10.00 worth of gas!:D

You say this like seeing an ad means that the site sporting the ad is the one paying the money. I know it's Google Ads and there isn't really someone at Toyota saying "lets pay for an ad on MM.net." But even if that were true as this thread assumes, what's the problem? That's a foreign company sending their profits to an American hosted website. Sounds like a good set up to me.

Let's not get into this silly argument. Lot's of people in my small town neck of the world work at one of the many car dealerships on Auto Row. I don't begrudge anyone a living. And I certainly don't pass judgement on anyones choice of vehichle. My Marauder shares the driveway with a Titan. (kinda like I share the kingsize bed):rolleyes:
