What IS a Marauder?

As most of us proud Marauder owners have happen often are strangers approaching us at the filling station or grocery store to admire our rides. Most “pedestrians” do not know what a Marauder is. I always tell them to check out this site. However, upon thinking about it I realize that there is no information about what we are all about on our homepage! Really. I cannot find one single link on the homepage that tells the story of the Marauder. We are proud that our cars are not just Crown Vics with cool wheels. But the only true website for Marauder enthusiast has no general information to educate the public on what we are all about. Might I respectfully suggest that we place an easy to find link to something like “What is a Marauder” And simply tell the story from the first Marauders to our late model favorites. Include production numbers and the basic story that I found on wikipeda. Just a suggestion so please don’t beat me up too bad.
My brother had asked me what was so special about my car, and why I spent so much money on it, and I had to send him to wiki instead of my favorite site..this one.

I think your thoughts (Suggestion) is worthy of consideration.....and has a good point...........I know myself and fastblackmerc have spken many times than we can count that what he^has said about folks asking us at gas stations and wherever we are stopped--about our cars--is always going on----so a reference point of what we are so glued too should be at least put up for "go and see" --I kinda like the idea......anyone else.........

I think because it's basically a "Limited Edition" and a specialty vehicle that it would be a great idea.

This is the hybrid between three of the most top cars and you get the most Impressive,Aggresive,Massive,S tealthy,Intimidating,Menacing, Awesome, Sporty, Luxury, car of all times unfortunally by the fault of a lot of Idiots, stupids, :censor:, :censor:, :censor:,:censor:, pseudo executives, publicity, merchant of FLM they stop the production of this Awesome car, Sad but true.

I usually say, "Imagine a Crown Vic, with a mustang cobra motor"

then you see thier faces go from dumb, to "OOHHH", then to envy.

Black_Noise, you hit it right on the head, I drop the same line....almost.

I try to make it sound as intimidating as possible, like instead of saying something like "it's a grand marquis with the motor of a mach 1", cause some people are like ok, it's a grandma car with a specialty mustang motor. NO. I tell them it's a stealth interceptor with the heart of a cobra. Then I rev the engine, and they wet themselves a little. ;)

Interesting proposition. However, in the past 5 years here I have never seen a "Newbie" show up and ask what a Marauder is? They ask how to get one. They ask about the difference between a 300A and 300B. They ask how to get their build number. They ask about the best performance mods. They ask for advice on supercharging the MM. But NO ONE ever asks "What is a Marauder?" Putting a link to the Wiki Narrative on the front page oughta do the trick for those who stumble onto the site and don't have a clue. Other than Log In .... I suspect most people don't spend alot of time on the Home Page. I know that I don't.

When people quiz me about our 2 cars at gas stations and everywhere else, I just tell them the MM is a hybrid of Crown Vic Cop Car on steriods plus all the confort and goodies of Town Car. Typically thier response is WOW! Then I proceed to tell them what I have done to improve the cars.

BTW, our DOHC 4.6 engine has been around since the '93 Linc MK VIII. Yes, Ford improved it over the years and put our MM incarnation into the Mach I, but the engine came from the Lincoln to compete with the GM Cadillac Northstar 4.6. There was a head to head comparison between the 2 engines in Popular Mechanics or Pop Science in late 1992 or early 1993.
