Hey guys I know the forged internals will hold up a lot better than stock internals and make it a 5.0? Will this help horsepower wise? If so how much on average? I was looking at the modmax stroker kit! :help:

and CAN make it a 5.0...... if you get the stroker kit.
HP wise.... a fresh engine will help with the hp, watch your compression ratios...some kits lower the ratio well below 10:1, but I'm not sure if just adding the forged stuff will give you an increase.

But with the tougher lower end you can put a supercharger on and feel better....

Adding cubes will increase HP a bit.... but it all depends on the compression ratio and what intake you will be using and so forth.

Everything the same... just adding cubes to displace 5.0L... I would expect around another 50hp.

Go forged 5.0L, get a 9.5:1 ratio, add a positive displacement blower.

Rule of thumb. Never purchase a rotating assembly unless you have checked with your engine builder and he has reviewed the block and it's associated specifications. Not having the correct piston fit could lead to a major headache quickly.

So basically it would be easier to buy a cobra shortblock?

I don't think you'd pick up 50hp by only adding 20-22 cubes. I'd expect 25-30ish.

The main gain is lower RPM torque. I've built 3 pushrod strokers and worked on a few mod strokers.

I dont have to get my motor bored do i in order to make a forged rotating assembly work do i?

Not necessarily...but most engine builders will give the cylinders a clean-up hone so that the new piston rings will wear in properly.
The engine builder will determine how much 'clean-up' honing is needed and select the correct diameter piston to match the final bore diameter.

Buy a Trilogy and call it a day.
You are gonna spend all this money for a stroker, when you can spend the same money on a blower.
Drive the snot out of the car with the blower and save up for engine mods while doing so.

This is a good deal:

Ill take the new built motor out of my Mach 1 for $5000
Ported Heads, GT Cams Livernois Valve Springs
4.6L Cobra Crank, Manley Rods, Diamond Pistons
Powdercoated timing cover
Runs flawlessly.

$1000 more could buy a trilogy lol i didnt wonna spend 5k on a motor. If it cost more to do the forged internals i would have bought a cobra block instead. Thanks though

Sounds like you want something done quick, but reliable.

I just happen to have a used Aluminum block and great cast crank.

Get some good pistons for $600, have a shop fit the pistons up/do the machine work etc. Buy some Manley rods, slap on your heads and go.

The cast crank will be good to 600+ rwhp or more.

I've heard that. Don't trust it, but I've heard that.
And.... I've yet to hear of a crank snap at that power level... so.....

Circle gets the square.

If you get a cobra shortblock and install in your car you are gonna end up with less power if you don't put a blower on too. Unless you put the motor together yourself and RR it yourself you'll be hard pressed to get a built motor for $5,000 after it's all said and done.
