At least open those closed accounts. Weather they are used or not will be on them. The door should be unlocked.

It would be really nice to converse with everyone without jumping back and forth between 2 sites....but I'm not holding my breath.

I have tried to appeal to those in charge here so many times; words, it appears have caused more damage than if an actual murder of a human being had been commited. Words have an inmense power and there are some wounded individuals here that feel their injuries are permanent and unforgiveable.

The only thing that is permanent is death, we are not getting any younger and holding a grudge is unhealthy. That goes for both sides, not just the ones in charge here.

I merely suggest let go of the ill will to BOTH SIDES. It will make you healthier, stronger. This side has everything to gain and nothing to lose by ending all bannings, if the banned were to return and misbehave treat according to existing policies on an individual basis.

The peace of blandness is just that: bland, a forum filled with goofy meaningless bland threads. I do not approve of profanity or writing just simply to injure another person, but blandness is mortally wounding this once great site.

I agree sir.

Though no more extra ordinary efforts are necessary. A simple click here or there in about 3 or 4 user accounts would suffice. No notifications, no grand announcements on homepages... just do it - quietly, behind the scenes and undo a wrong.

Such an exercise will probably be purely academic at best. It would be a nice Good Will Gesture. However, I fear that far too many bridges have been burned, access ramps torn up, and direction signs removed to have any real impact. Some have raised the level of MM.Net bashing to the level of an Olympic sport. I just don't see Pride Swallowing in their repertoire. Hope they prove me wrong.

We as people are efficient at tearing down the old roads and access ramps and building new ones. Reminds me of the road trip to Michigan. Anyone else get all turned around in Toledo? Yes sir. The bridge was torn down. It has since been rebuilt.

Hell, just look at I-95 @ I-695 here in Baltimore.

Point is... roads get torn up and bridges get torn down. When that happens, they should be repaired even if nobody promises to drive their Marauder across.

This current admin has recently taken steps to restore credibility and trust that I feel can restore mm.net to the esteemed place it once held in my eyes.

I agree with both Charlie's :D They both make separate and good points. This is not about the expectation that we are all going to become "good buddies" again. It is about MM.net regaining the respect it once held among most members.

The key to MM.net regaining the position of respect and authority about the Mercury Marauder and it's owners lies in attracting the best and brightest to our club. With different opinions, backgrounds and yes the arguments that follow any diverse and dynamic group of people.

Respect is earned and any time some people feel that the rules are not evenly applied there is a lost of respect. At this point in time I see no conflict whatsoever that prevents MM.net from becoming again what it once was: were the brightest and best gathered.

If the steps were to be taken to allow anyone that wishes to participate in our club/forum in a vigorous but respectful manner, it should not "in my humble opinion":D be done in secrecy, nor should there be any sort of grand advertising with names on a list.

A simple thread with a simple entry: All closed accounts are reinstated and available for use.

Close the thread, the rest is up to the individuals, the ball is on the other court sort of speak. I have no tolerance for profanity or writing with no other purpose than to cause injury to another individual and neither should MM.net. Apply the rules to all with equal vigor and fairness.

Javier.

Charlie, it's a good idea. Not that I would spend any more or less time in either place. I try to make my own judgements on folks, and their e-personalities often are quite different than real life. I tend to get along with people who seem to despise each other on the intraweb.

The biggest thing that everyone on these forums must realize is that they (the forums) are privately owned businesses. You're not always going to agree with what a moderator/owner does, but the bottom line is it's their site. Think of your use to their standards as the price for the convienence of purchasing so much information in one or two places.

Thanks GordonB.:)

Just for clarification purposes, I don't want the bannings to end because I need or want any one single individual to be allowed here, I don't know the actual number of banned; 4 maybe 5 persons. They probably have no desire to return anyway.

This site has lost membership and participation from a number far greater than 4 or 5 people, past events and the bannings have caused large numbers of folks to leave, the rift has not improved this site, it is different but not better.

Anyway I have no expectations, eventually I will cease to care one way or the other and just go away, new folks will join... the early years were fantastic, a lot of good memories.
