Yes I searched but didn't find much....... All the threads were really old and the pic's disappeared:confused:
Well anywho....... I purchased 3 new gauges...... All UltraliteII's:) A real oil pressure gauge, trans temp gauge and a volt's meter gauge. I have the necessary angle rings also. I read in some thread about needing a new sending unit for the oil pressure gauge.... Is this true? What size hole saw will I need to drill the 3rd gauge hole? I would also like to relocate the cigarette lighter to somewhere else in the gauge pod.... What size hole saw would be needed for the cig lighter?
Any other tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated also!
Thanks..... Sean

Yes, you will need the correct sender with your new gauge.
OEM sender is basically an 'ON'/'OFF' switch that either makes the OEM (ON/OFF) gauge read '0 psi' or @ '60' psi.
It has no modulation feature.

The sending unit comes with the new gauge. You can use the OEM wire, but you'll have to change the connector at the sending unit.

If I remember correctly,
the gauges are 2 1/8" (but don't quote me).;)
just use the ring & a sharpie marker to mark a line where the hole should
be, (mark inside the ring) then drill a bunch of 1/8" holes all around the mark,
use the drill bit like a roto zip, yes this is kind of a hack way, but you can go back and clean it up with a dremal or a sanding roll ect... (if i remember correctly the hole ends up being slightly out of round, a result of the angle the gauge sits in there)
the ring is pretty thick & will cover any imperfection
& as long as you do not go to far out side the line.
If you would like to keep your lighter/power port use the same method
to make a smaller hole on the passenger side of the pod to relocate it
(note not as much room for error here)
just make sure you mount the gauge before you mark the hole location
so it will clear the back of the gauge.

The gauges are 2 1/16"...as mentioned a number of times on AutoMeter's website. I don't know about the cigar lighter as I deleted it when I added the third gauge.
As FordNut said, the sender comes with the gauge.

2 1/16..... you can use a 2" and sneak up on the size if you want good tight fit.
I used MCAT's method to get rid of the lighter.

I used a 2'' hole cutter, one used for cutting holes in door for locks, works on plastic v/n. I lined it up with other gauges, used angle ring for template on back side, and drilled from the rear very slow :D make adjustments as necessary.
