On a lonely stretch of private track....an Audi S4 was playing leep frog with me....we are both going at about 75 MPH then on comes the overdrive and we get on it together....from the moment I mash the go pedal I start pulling on him....the little White S4 is falling back....at about 120 I see him fall way back and I get out of it at about 125....What gives...was he sandbaging??? Well he hung around for a few seconds then it was all over.....The big Silver Marauder emerges victorious!!
Works for me :D :burnout:

If all you had is a CAI and tune, it wasn't a kill. He was a "catch-and-release" hunter.
S4s are nothing to laugh at, even when only stock.
Either that or like Takedown said, he chickened out.

A race is not just about a car, but the driver as well... if he chickens out after a race is agreed to by both parties it is a kill!
WORKS FOR ME!

He could have taken you if you were both stock, or close to stock.
Just because someone doesn't blow by you, doesn't mean they can't. If I felt the need to blow by every SRT-4/Hemi/RS4-6/Spec-V/SS/AMG/Fartcan Special/whatever, I'd be pulling into a gas station every 10 minutes!
On the highway, I LOVE to find someone like you. It's called "running with a blocker", and has saved me from at least 3 tickets. (except for the time my "blocker" turned out to be an unmarked Camaro SS who paced me!)
You back off enough to let THEM take the radar hit, and not be involved so you don't get pulled over together. I just run 1/8 mile behind and let them show me just how fast they can go.;)
Don't forget the Audi was engineered for high speed touring (read: Autobahn) and has better aerodynamics and suspension/chassis geometry than the MM. For the extra $$ you pay, you better get something more from Audi!

Sorry, I beg to differ. I went up against one when i was stock from a roll to 60. He only kept up for about five feet.
But now i thought there was two engines for this car, one being a turbo. If thats the case my competition obviously wasn't a turbo.

My bad, i thought we were talking about A4's. I don't know nothing about S4's. What do they have over the A4's?

About 17 letters.

Depends on the year. It used to be that the A4 had one engine, the S4 had a bigger/better one (think Stang GT vs SVT GT500), and the RS4 was Godzilla of the line. (think Shelby SuperSnake)
As of this year, Audi has wimped out and join Benz/Roush/Chevy in adding letters that don't mean anything anymore.
Benz, Audi, Chevy performance letters (AMG/S/SS) now start with appearance mods only. It used to be that to carry the hi-po letters, there was more hp as well as appearance mods. Now, it's just another symbol. Roush Mustangs used to be something to fear. Now a Roush Stage 1 or 2 is a six banger, and Stage 3 starts to mean something.
Lame.
I think they come with Larry Vuitton bags as well. Jeez.

Very early S4s had turbo 4s, later ones had twin turbo v6's, and the latest ones have V8s and are VERY quick. All have AWD.

Hey, every group needs one ;)
I think the S-4 way back in 98 or so was running about 250 hp. I was very interested in one until I sat in it and found that I couldn't. Sit in it, that is. WAAAAY too small. I felt like I was being compressed into a Ford Festiva or something. There was no way I was dropping that much coin for a car I couldn't sit up in and that used the armrest as a side bolster and the passenger seat as an armrest and had no room in the rear for passengers aproaching puberty and on, and on, and on.

Lackey, who let you out of the dungeon again?:P
I just hate poseurs, and when I saw the new AMG trim-only lines from Benz, I nearly puked. Watering down the breed to get a few more sales? At least Bimmer hasn't destroked the M class cars!
