I am going to call Jerry and see if he wants to run the trilogy cars down there too. Can you imagine showing up with 3 or 4 supercharged Marauders! We will have to let Gene and Jerry D. know too....

I am definately there for this one. Got Hershey on the mind, so this will help pass the time. For those of us close, this is a great opportunity to meet a dealership owner with and open mind, and possible pitch the one we utilize now.

3 hours 8 minutes if you take some back roads.
75S to exit 159, then go thru the woods on RT 68 to Kenton and pickup RT 31 direct into Columbus. These are great back roads, I've done it before, but anything over 70 is dangerous.

About 4 hours, give or take about 20 minutes for traffic.
Figure 1 1/2 from Detroit to Findlay, then 2 hours plus to Columbus.
(I used to live in Toledo and near Columbus.)
It is really tempting to make a quick run up to Columbus. I know you guys will have lots of fun.

I'll be there.
My mother lives in Columbus - I can usually make it in 3-1/2 hours from Farmington Hills.

I thought about that Nate, I am going to give them a call and find out exactly what will be going on and drop the news that they will have a bunch of out of state cars, as well as supercharged ones too, so make it worth our effort! It would be tight to have 4 trilogy cars there....#1, #2, #3, and #7!!!

I think what will scare him the most is if we do burnouts in his parking lot! I get the impression they aren't too keen on hot rod marauders and having a little fun. My wife isn't big on horsing around but even she found this request a little unusual. Afterall, this isn't a Sable get together....is it?

Important consideration...IS OHIO STATE HOME THAT SATURDAY???? If so - traffic will be a mess all over town. Columbus freeways are like ours - perpetually under construction.
I'm planning to leave Friday night - it helps that I don't have to pay for lodging! Anyone else planning to go on Friday?

The rest of the country "falls back" on the last Sunday of October. This year, it's October 26th. After the 26th, Indiana will be the same as Ohio (as they will both be EST).

Ok, who from the forum is going? From Michigan or Otherwise.... please respond here if you intend on going, and still let Rush L/M know for food purposes. I spoke with Mark Rush tonight and it sounds like this will be a class act and I think we owe it to our Marauders to go and enjoy the hospitality. This will be a great day trip for most of us. They have a great lunch planned and a lot of goodies for us Marauder'ers.

Been e-mailing with Mark at Ron Rush. It's great to have a Dealer who is willing to be a supporting dealer here in Columbus, so bring your Marauders on down to Columbus. Really looking forward to meeting all.I believe you will have a great time. Mark does want to support the Marauder Club and it's owner's. So RSVP him and pass the word. Going to have a great time!!!

I mean to ask...like what is Ron Rush doing for y'all, eh?
This appears another Autum "tent sale." okay?
I've got three invites to tent sales pending here, and I haven't the ballz to ask my brother MM owner to pimp out for any of these dealers because none of these dealers asking, have done anything in support of the MM. Nothing. So, before I ask my brother Windy City owners to drive anywhere, I want to make sure that there is a reason for them to make this drive. Y'all follwing me?
Y'all be rushing down to Ron Rush, and why? Just to get together again after Marauderville? This is cool, if this were the case, I would be there too...Go for it!
But, I've got the Hershey event doing that for me, an assembly of owners, enjoying the company of owners. Hell, leave the MM home, K? Stories will do...
However, remember that the only one benefitting from all of your rushing, is Ron Rush. Y'all need to ask yourselves why you are spending the gas bucks, and time bucks, to get to Ron Rush for this event.
Is this a "show?" No, I do not believe it is a sanctioned "show."
Can/will you qualify for a sanctioned trophy? No.
A simple dash plaque? No.
Something? Anything? Other that just being with buds? NO.
If it's just to be with buds, start your car, K? But, I have a different feeling about it all, and y'all are just going to be boosting car sales for Ron Rush.
If you think this "show" is more than that, find out exactly what "that" means?
I've seen posts here that confuse me about what this "meet" is all about. Y'all have to watch out for yourselves, and each other, K? No sense in turning yourselves into whores, without there being something in it for y'all...
Just my .02c, rebuts to sergntMac@aol.com.
PS...Have a good time, y'all be safe.

To me, this is a chance to meet some owners that perhaps didnt make it to Texas, maybe make some new friends and have a good time doing it. As for what the dealership is doing for us? Well, they are providing a place to meet and socialize. Setting up a nice luncheon for those that show up. When I spoke with Mark Rush he wanted to help get the owners together and help members organize an owners club in Ohio. Thats for starters, if you want the details beyond that, pick up the phone and give the man a call. Thats what I did, and what I heard convinced me this would be a nice day trip with some buddies from Michigan, pure and simple. And I am confused as to the concept over "sanctioned" shows? Sanctioned by ........? This forum? I have a shelf full of Trophies and Best in Class plaques, dash plaques from sanctioned car shows. I think more is being made out of this than there is. Its a chance to hang out and enjoy some hospitality with new friends. If that isnt good enough, stay home. I dont need to get something out of it to have a good time.

I second that. It's all about proximity for some of us. I only wish that my LM dealer would hold a tent sale that attracted dozens of out of state MM owners. And even if it is a tent sale... I feel an obligation to show up and let potential MM owners know what an awesome car they'll be missing if they don't buy one :)

I am going to meet all the Ohio folks that have recently come out of the woodwork for this lunch get together. Bonus: I meet some folks from Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. Bonus: I get to drive my MM....again...on the highway...over 60...without breaking down...;)
As far as boosting sales for MARK...I highly doubt his Marauder sales are gonna skyrocket as a result of a MM get together in a part of Columbus that is not neccessarily over wealthy. If he does, that only means more potential members of the (NEWEST), finest car club in the U.S., the MM club. Is that wrong?
I'll make sure MARK doesn't take them for a ride.:coolman: K?

I think Dave said it best. If you don't won't to come stay home. I too talked to Mark and he was a real straight up guy. He was very excited to have this many MMs and could not believe the way we feel about our cars. As for helping sell cars, I hope they sell every car they have. It helps my profit sharing. For that simple reason count me in. I was not able to make the Ennis meet so it gives me a chance to meet some of the other guys.

Like I said...I was confused.
If it's just a buddy thing, that's cool. I have no problem driving a few hundred miles to visit with brother owners, and I think I said that twice in the same post. It's cool to watch it happen like this, and I'm doing it myself again tomorrow, and again on Sunday.
But, there is another thread on this topic, and the mention of "vendor fees" made me wonder about what's really happening. From the Trilogy Forum...

Hey Folks, I just made plans to attend a Marauder Roundup in Columbus, Ohio at Rush Lincoln/Mercury on October 11th. I will bring one, or both cars to the event. Dave P. set it up and is coordinating the Michigan cars that want to attend. Sounds like a good time. I have paid my fees as a vendor and sent Mark Rush a sample of the dash plack we got from Bob in Ennis.
'Nuff said, safe journey.

Guys,
Let me cover all of the pojnts that have made one-by-one:
I got a call from Dave P. and Bob Mathis asking if I wanted to go. I immediately said "Yes!". It sounds like a good time and I enjoy hanging out with the Motor City MM's. I am bringing both cars.
Second, I was asked to call Mark Rush, which I did, and he invited me and then asked for some funds to support the event. I don't have a problem giving money for the cause, I am a vendor and an MM lover also. So I sent my money, which wasn't cheap, because Mark said that LM did not come through with any funding and he wanted to buy dash placks and other give-a-ways. I don't have a problem with that. If LM gave Mark some goodies and money I would just show up like everyone else. But, to Sarg's comment, I would come as an owner and save the money but I was asked to do more. And I don't consider driving to Ohio to support a local dealer a big deal, after all I am looking forward to just hanging out. Enough said!
In talking to Mark, he specifically asked that I/we do not do burn-outs at the dealership like he saw in our web site photo. His insurance would eat him alive! There will be customer buying cars that day, etc. I told him that I would diplomatically tell everyone I knew to honor Mark's wishes. I completely understand and I personally do not have a problem with that request.
I faxed a copy of the Dash Plack from Ennis to Mark for his review.
In terms of the Marauder owners/friends that I have nnot had a chance to meet, I am looking forward to that time!!!
So once again, count me in twice. I am bringing the family for a day out and I am really looking forward to seeing my frineds that I traveled to Ennis with.
Oh, I talk to Lidio and he will not be able to make it. He has a very busy schedule that day.
Dave give me a call!!!
