View Full Version : Where should I go for rear gears?

Now that spring's right around the corner and the snow tires will soon be coming off (hopefully!), I'm thinking about finally putting the 4:10's in since I already have the tune and I'm probably selling my bike. Is there anyone you guys recommend in the Boston area?

for the rear, look back! lol jk

sd8683 and KB-Marauder-S both use Dez for installs and tuning... but its iffy. call around to your local shops! installing gears is going to usually run about $400 for just install.

Ask Go Mufini... he had his installed last year.

C&E Auto in Milford, right next to Outlaw Dyno on Rt. 140. Specialize in 8.8's, and 9.75's. Cars go out of there with absolute 0 gear whine. I had my Vic done at Accurate Auto in Hyde Park(ask sd8636 and KB marauder s) and they charged $400 for an 8.8 rebuild and install. Good priced.

If they do, that's a deal, gears alone are usually around $200.

LOL. Sounds like they went up from when I had my car done. I paid $400 for install and a rebuild. Then again, I had my own 8.8 and gears and a kit.

I went to a local Mustang speed shop. They change gears just about every day.

Just be sure to change everything out since you're already in there.

I'd go to a good Mustang shop in your area.

+1 on C.E Racing in Milford. I've dealt with Bob on several occasions and he has always treated me very well.

its easier than you thing to do it. you just have to make sure the wear pattern and backlash are correct and the pinion bearing is preloaded the correct amount.
