What company would you guys recommend to order a trans from for the MM. I have talked to Zack on the stock rebuild, but don't think I will be able to drive that far. Is there any options, maybe BC automotive, or does Reinhart sell trans that can be shipped? Any options and recommendations would be great, can't drive much further without O/D. Killing the gas mileage. Thanks again, everyone has been so extremely helpful, one of my favorite sites.

All my buddies who got their trans from Darrin at B-C have been more than happy with the entire experience.

Your location says your in Illinois so I would make arrangements to get your car to Zack's asap. You would be crazy not to bring the car to him and let him look at it. He's saved me a ton of money and the guy works like crazy to get the job done. On top of that he's a perfectionist and really picky about things which is why I am having him work on my car :). I dont let alot of people touch my car much less leave it somewhere as I am very anal retentative but I actually left my car at Zack's -that's how comfortable I feel.
You can make your own decisions but I am telling you bring it to Zack or you'll end up paying more and regretting it.

I'd suggest going with the option that has the best warranty.

Zack,
I don't care about the rest of the stuff except for tuning and transmissions.
Lonnie Doll of Blue Oval Chips was in the shop here a couple of weeks ago when you and I talked about tuning and he knows what all was said in that conversation from just a few minutes in because it was on speakerphone. I am not happy that you told me you were not going to be offering tuning and then see almost immediately afterward that you are.
I hate it when someone isn't straight with me. Honesty and integrity are everything in business.
On that, I think you and I need to start a thread and have a discussion on some of the changes we make in our tunes to address certain things. Maybe put up some screen shots and go in depth about what some of these different things mean, why we make changes to certain things and how those changes work to provide a better product. We don't have to put up specific numbers or details. Maybe just talk a little to let people have a better understanding of why we do what we do. Show of what we know a little.
And on transmissions, I definitely don't want to see anyone else get anything that looked like the couple that you were involved in and know I had to go through and replace a LOT of stuff on.
I just don't have those types of problems with my stuff.
You won't find a single dissatisfied customer of mine when they got one of my transmissions built my way. The only time I have ever had any real problem was rebuilding a transmission that, in hindsight, I shouldn't have gotten involved in. Anyone that was paying any attention to it knows that NOBODY was ever able to make that one particular customer happy with his transmission. Knowing who all had their hands in it and the ultimate outcome, I have to think there was some other larger problem with that one. I don't know what it was and I feel for how things went for him, but there was something else at play somehow. It's unfortunate that it turned out how it did and I wish I would have gotten the chance to provide him with a transmission that I built using the parts I use and doing it my way. I guarantee you that it would have turned out very much differently.
And of course I am not saying that I have a 100% perfect record of getting it all right the first time either because everyone makes mistakes from time to time. That is just the absolute honest truth. Nobody is perfect and anyone that tells you they are definitely isn't telling the truth. What I will say is that I have a perfect track record of getting it right and making the customer happy with their product even when there is any sort of issue with my products as long as they let me know what the issue is and give me an honest chance to correct it. I always do everything I can.
I do have a business and that business has an outstanding track record. I take care of my customers and they can count on me to be there when they need me for anything.

Wait a minute here!
If I tell you I like rye bread on Tuesday and on Wednesday I decide I like wheat better, do I need to give you an explanation? Do I need your permission? Uh, no.
I really dont know why you consider me a tuning 'threat' or whatever you feel about the whole thing.
As for the whole tuning discussion, fine. whatever. Post up something and if it is your intent to start an internet debate just to humiliate me, Ill play. Truth is, I dont have to explain myself. I send out a proven tune that SCT developed, and I paste in my Trans stuff. Thats it! If you want to bring up the "222" and whatever other number you fished out of the back of your mind, fine, go for it!
I dont know why you are on the offensive with me lately

Hey guys, i really wasn't posting this thread to start a battle, i was just checking for options that i may have overlooked in the community! I have been doing research and research to find a great product. That is what i am looking for. Not a battle to the end. Sorry to you both for hitting sore spots. But Thanks to everyone for the quick responses, and if there are still options out there, i would still be interested in hearing them. After all, i will have to make my decision this week. Thanks mm.net members.

Zack,
I wasn't at all on the offensive with you at all until you told me that you wouldn't be tuning and then you are. You saying that was a good part of the reason that I did what you asked and got online to tell everyone that you hadn't done anything wrong on that issue.
Then I see that you are here offering tuning but are heading off to have Bob Kurgan tune your car. Which makes me immediately want to know if you are actually an SCT dealer or not? If you are then why are you still going to other tuners? If you aren't, are you telling them what you do 'on the side'?
On that particular 222 number, that was just an example. Most of the tuners out there have 'pet' numbers they use that are different than anyone else. We use them as identifiers to see where our stuff ends up, and it's often interesting to see where our stuff does end up.
If you want to build a business then please do it the right way. Always be honest and straightforth. Don't use the talent of others for your own personal gain. Don't ever hide anything. Always tell the whole truth. Do, don't pretend. Innovate, don't assimilate. If you use the knowledge of others ALWAYS give credit where credit is due.
You have definite talents and are a likable guy. You also unfortunately tend to have a lot of controversy and trouble surrounding you pretty much everywhere you go and that can't be everyone else's fault. You have been banned from more sites than anyone else I know and that isn't anything to be at all proud of.
You have to be better than that to be a businessman and stay the course. If not then eventually you will find people banding together to make sure you 'get yours'. When that group stops being other business people who talk behind the scenes and starts being customers that talk in the open forums like these then you are in BIG trouble. The business owners can usually only make it hard for you to get anywhere in the circles they belong to. Customers... That's a whole other story.
I don't care what you do as long as you do it honestly and do it the right way. In my mind you have been less than honest with me a couple of times now and I have zero tolerance for dishonesty.
It's also a bad idea to run around telling people what I do and don't offer. That kind of kicked me over the edge. I mentioned to you that I was told you said I wasn't tuning anymore and you denied that. I took it for what you said and was willing to leave it at that, but then I saw a thread with you telling people that I don't provide products that I definitely do. That's wrong, period. Let me talk to my potential customers myself and tell them what I can and can't do for them please.
It's almost as if you have to do things like this to get attention.

I am not going to pollute up your thread anymore. Sorry for wording my initial reply in a way that I knew wasn't the way I should have.

Darrin, I couldnt help but wonder if you were talking to Dennis Reinhart, and not myself.
Banned from other sites, name ONE.
And if you want to talk about honestly, integrity and all that other fuzzy stuff, ill be right here waiting..... with screen shots from EFITO.
So if you want to step to the plate, just be sure you bring a bat thats not too heavy for you.

I've had numerous transmission builds. The best one I ever had was an Art Carr kit from Reinhart, it was installed by a master mechanic at a local Ford dealership's service department. Lasted a long time, shifted perfectly.

Darrin at BC Automotive would be a great choice. BCA is a legitimate business, is responsible, trustworthy and honest, knows how to setup a transmission, has ties to those at the highest level who designed this trans and know how to calibrate your car for engine and trans performance and longetivity. And he does not pirate tunes from those that know.

I've had tremendous good luck with Art Carr in Abilene. My extreme street transmission (with the J-mod, with the tail shaft cooling option) is just brilliant. Take out your stock trans, ship it to them on a Monday (for Tuesday arrival via freight - they are right next to Abilene airport) and they'll rebuild it the way you want and ship it back so you have it Friday (and can put it back in the car). I've also got an Art Carr torque converter.
(These are the guys that, when my trans broke at MVI, took my car into their shop in Abilene on Monday, drove me around, took me to dinner Monday, let me watch and photograph the rebuild on Tuesday, modified the trans the way I wanted it, and had it all back in the car Tuesday night so I could go home - they earned my business for sure.)
Call them and ask for Alan Hartmann and mention my name. They know my car!

In all reality you would be better off to get one from the dealer and install it or have them install it.
You can't beat the warranty. I installed a ford reman(while I was on the clock. I Don't work for a ford Dealer) in mine and 250 miles later it grenaded, took it to the dealer 4 days later had my car back, with another new trans. I now have 6k on the trans.
The up front price is more but is well worth it.
Ps: if you do go this route Don't cheap out and not install a new cooler. The warranty department that services the transmissions frowns apon that.

Darrin is a stand up guy that backs his product! I can go out to the shop and put my hands on FOUR of his trannys and on Monday morning I can put my hands on another that's been in a DD Mach1 for almost 2 yrs now and it hasn't missed a beat.
I'm gonna use his BillyBadazz tranny in my car that will put his tranny DEEEEEP into the 8s.
