I went to D.C. last Thursday-Friday and left my Marauder at the Federal Building in Dover, DE and drove a Govt car to keep the Marauder from being in the tight parking confines of the DC parking garages. The car was covered in snert (snow and dirt left overs) when i returned on Friday so I took it to the carwash for an under carriage wash in addition to a regular wash, go home and park the car in the driveway for the weekend. My wife on her way out on Saturday comes into the house and says "where did you get that big scratch on the driver side doors??????" I go out and see that someone has keyed my car from the front passenger door to the front portion of the rear quarter panel:bigcry:. I have contacted the insurance co. amd will be making a police report when back in the office. I believe i was the victim of Crown Vic association. The Federal Probation office is co-located in the building. This sucks......:(:shake::depress:: censor:

Man that really sucks, Kirk. :( It is especially irritating 'cause you left it there to be safe. What kinda of low life bastiges would do that to a car? :mad2:

Ooohhh...you know what really sucks? It happened to me in November. Went so deep it looked like a lightning bolt design from the headlight to the taillight...and the kicker? It was my old supervisor!!!!

That sucks man. I was afraid the same thing was going to happen to me. The Police Dept. I work for has an unsecured employee lot a block away from the Dept. So I would never park there. We were allowed to park in the County Probation Office lot. But I hated parking there because we would be loading all of our gear from our personal cars into our squads while "joe dirtbag" would be walking in to meet his probation officer. We have just recently been allowed to park in the secure parking garage used by the city officials and county court house officials.

Was it because you took up 2 spaces?

There are four things in this world that you do not **** with...

A mans country
a mans family
a mans food

and

a mans car.

NOTHING pisses me off like seeing a new scratch/dent/nick in my cars finish.

Sorry to hear this :(

If the insurance company wont do anything, your best bet is to pick up a porter cable and get rid of them yourself. Unless its down to the paint :(

Ouch, I feel your pain. The worst part of this is that you will probably have to pay your deductible to get it fixed.

Sorry to hear that Kirk:( It happened to me to the day after I bought the vehicle. It happened in a KMART parking lot. I parked away from the pack, went in to buy car wax, came out and needed a new paint job. Thankfully it wasn't my Marauder; still it was only in my driveway for one day.

I feel your pain. Unfortunately, the insurance delta from filing a claim then paying the deductible, it may be worth just getting it repaired yourself. Save the accident forgiveness for a really bad day.

A few weeks ago I had a similar thing happen. I work at a bar so I have crazy people come in and out of the parking lot at a million miles an hour all the time. Its always a concern of mine so I park my car close so I can keep an eye on it. Once in a while we get some trouble so I have to go and get everything settled. Now a buynch of people showed up in a white Chevy Tahoe and parked right next to me (which sort of pissed me off, just because I hate it when people park next to the Merc) and these four rather round and loud people get out of it and enter the bar. I was watching closely and nobody hit it and everything was fine. Now later on that night we had some problems with some patrons so I wasn't in view of my car when the drunk Tahoe people left. Next day I come out to me car and I see a huge white scratch right above and a little behind my driver side back wheel. Right then my blood ran cold. I got closer and it was bad it was about 3 inches long, but it was deep. I t wasnt a light bump or some normal scratch or accident it was malicious. I'm still waiting for them to come back to the bar. Maybe I will go take out an Impala to make myself feel better.

The outcome? I wish it was:flamer:....but unfortunately no. I payed out of my own pocket to have it the whole car repainted(might as well right?) and he got away with it. There is a little bit of shady stuff going on, swept under the rug by the Ops manager, but he will get his....Karma is a bi***.....I'm trying to take the high road and not retaliate the way I felt like doing it:bigcry:

No, no camera, and the funny/not so funny part is that the Police Dept is right across the street. Come to think of it, that could have made the problem worse. I will get an estimate later to see what my damage is. I won't be leaving it there again. Everyone has told me I was crazy to leave it there in the first place. (Now they tell me:()....

Kirk,
I have the Griot's polisher and the #3 and #4 polish if you want to try removing the scratches at my house sometime. PM me and we can get together one weekend, sooner or later, but NOT Apr. 3 - Apr. 13.
I'd start with clay, then #4, see what it looks like. Go to #3 if necessary. Have a few other options also. Finish up with NXT wax, couple of coats. You might like it so much that we have to do the whole car!!!! LOL!

That really sucks that happend to you. My truck got keyed right in front of my house last fall. I can't understand people who do that. If I ever catch anyone, there's gonna be a baseball bat involved....
