Those are the mufflers used on the Loudmouth exhaust. I had SLP LTs, and the LoudMouth II w/ x-pipe on my 03 GT. I loved the sound. Others said it was raspy. I like rasp personally..depending on the car its coming from...to each his own, I guess
This is the vid that made me buy it for my stang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=302DBzOXzRs
Here is the LM II setup on a 04 cobra http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNXg8ikP354
curious as to what the sound would be on a marauder, close to the cobra I imagine

The SLP Loudmouth 1s are probably some of the loudest exhaust setups I've ever heard in my life. They're pretty much a special-made straight pipe setup meant to look legit come inspection time. Only thing I could tell you, be ready for mad droning unless you extend your tips a fair bit.

i think the Hpipe instead of x will counteract the raspyness of the SLP's but i do like that sound!
i'm going for "stupid" loud so thats perfect.
the shotgun's are the same as the 1's i think.

No they aren't the same. Click below and scroll down to the bottom, you can see the difference in SLP mulfflers

i think im begining to reconsider removing the rear cats. i'll just have a custom 2.5" h pipe and those SLP's installed. that should be plenty loud altho right now i am running without mufflers and the volume sounds perfect. i don't want to loose that tooo much.

Get rid of the 2nd set of cats, throw on some Aero Turbine 2525 mufflers. Perfect sound.

are there any advantages to loosing the rear cats aside from being louder?

The cats are restrictive so it allows a little more air flow. Think of an engine as a air breathing machine, if you increase the air flow into it you want to increase the air coming out. I shaved off a tenth off my 1/4 mile and noticed slightly better mid rpm range power.

keep in mind that yes, having the shotguns on instead of mufflers will be louder, but it definately won't be as loud it could be. What you're doing is almost the same as replacing your mufflers with cherry bomb glasspacks. The reason the SLP LM1 Mustang GTs are so loud is because those are full exhaust setups, from headers to mufflers, and those setups are close to being wide-open. If you want LOUD, you're gonna wanna take off all 4 cats to accompany the install of those shotguns and muffler removal. But it will be raspy, there will probably be a ton of drone.
